FS-2500 bypass oil filter ?

Detuning truck for plowing/towing

My wife has a 99 Durango that threw the check engine light. Just for kicks I hooked my Smarty up to the port on the Durango to see if it would read the DTC codes and something did come back. P0301-cylinder 1 misfire. My question is this: is that an accurate reading of the Durango codes? Are the DTC systems the same for the Cummins and gas engines? I was under the impression that there was a federal standard to these codes so they should be the same, but maybe those standards are the same for all gas engines and don't cross over to diesel. I never thought about it before, but I'm sure someone knows the answer.

Thanks...

You are right these are standards I did hook it up to my wifes toyota and it wouldn't read it maybe just Chrysler specific
