Looking for the pros and cons of each. Running each on an otherwise stock truck. Looking to decrease T/C slop, and improve mileage. Do I need gauges with the smarty? Really looking for the simplest, safest mod. I know that is a relative term when talking about bombing. :D

Let me just say that at our last truck drags an 05 Ho(with the juice) got beat by about a fender by an 03 so with a Smarty. Same body style same trans the only upgrade above the 05 was a pusher pump

I really like my Edge Juice/ Attitude. It's a really mild programmer so to speak, but still well worth the money. It defuels to save your trans when it senses slippage. The only thing I don't like is the on/off feel of the box. But then again my truck is otherwise stock aside from this. It feels like I get no love from the truck until about 2K to 2800, but when I do it's hold on tight. It's also my work truck too, so it's got to be reliable. my truck goes down, I'm out of work.

Ryan, it's interesting that yours seems to come alive after 2000. I bought mine mostly for towing and it makes a real difference down low for me, even around 1500.

To the OP, more juice is not going to reduce TC slop. More like the opposite.

Probably the same for mileage, unless you've got more willpower than most. ;)

I do find EGT and boost lower with the timing advance from the Juice, so I theorize there is some MPG gain IF I keep my foot out of it.

I had a juise with an A2 controller before I got my Smarty. The juice now resides in a box on the floor. The Smarty was mega times better than the juice in my opinion. All this on a stock truck except for the juice or the Smarty. The smarty is just a lot stronger in every day driving. The juice was hindered by torque management and I could barely get it to bark the tires.
The Smarty on level 3 will light them up at will and keep them lit if I would let it. Lower EGT's and a smoother running engine with the Smarty also. Hope this helps.

I have a Smarty for a 2 Gen and love it... Need to upgrade clutch. For you The Smarty for an 06 is Unreal 170HP max Plus Timing. Upgrade Trans DTT and youll be smokin... ... ... ... .

At the moment I have the Juice but after taking a Smarty for a test drive the Juice will be for sale with in the next week. The power of the Smarty just blew me away. Don't get me wrong the Juice is nice but if I had it to do over again it would be smarty hands down.

Thanks Llyod... . High idle works great...

Hey fellas, thanks for the replies.

It sounds like the smarty has it, hands down. As RJohnson16 said, this is also my work truck and must be used every day. Besides power, does everyone agree this is the most dependable? Also, do I need guages for the smarty?

I've got the juice w/attitude and here's my take. I've considered getting rid of the edge for the smarty but decided against it for two reasons. First reason, all advertisements about the smarty say it's undetectable by the dealer but I can't get this confirmed either way. The edge I can just take off and get rid of the velcro. Secondly, the smarty is putting out some major ponies, even on level #1 from what I hear. I'd feel a lot more comfortable using smarty with some transmission upgrades to handle the added power. The edge seems reliable and levels 1-3 seem to be within the transmission capacity.

the undetectable has been hashed over in my post.

the claim still stands :)

We DO NOT advocate using the feature for trashing a truck and then :{ to the dealer :-laf

Bob, I have no intentions of Whining to the dealership. But, as I have owned 2 other CTD's, it is my experience that Dodge can be pretty unreliable. And based on experiences on this site, D/C is looking for any reason to void waranties! "You have a bad front U_joint, and seeing as how you have a SMARTY/EDGE, we void your warranty, and you are hosed.

I always recommend a pyro gauge at minimum. I understand your frustration at voiding warranty at an unrelated failure. Leveling the playing field? :)

I have been watching to see that system works & what doesn`t has any tried the Bolley Dog systems. the smarty sounds good i have a 38' trailer i pull my Skid loader

& accesories it pulls hard to start out i need a little power out of the hole will this help.

Hey bob, i just ordered a smarty for my 01, been wanting to do it for a while, but truck has been on back burner. Cant wait to get it and crank it up. Now my question. I recently added an 06 to the stable. I see the 06 smarty is now available. My question is has anybody tested the limits of the stock clutch on an 06 with the g56?? My intention for this truck is just to add a little bit to the bottom end as the 3rd gen feels really weak down there to me compared to my 2nd gen. I do not want to start replacing clutches and bombing the heck out of this thing. (thats what the 2nd gen is for) So which level would be safe for me on the 06?? This truck gets driven like a baby, just want to give it a little kick. So what do you guys think how far is safe power wise??

Thanks Phil your order will ship today. The 06 should be able to hold the 60hp w/timing w/o any problem

You should see lower egt's and better fuel economy too.

I ship a big load of 06 smarty's this week so reports will start coming in.

All reports so far look GREAT!

Thanks bob, I sent a reply to your pm confirming my address. if you have any questions give me a call. I work nights, so i will be up all night and all day tomorrow. later. PHil

We had 3 06 6 spds at glamis that we smartied, the safe level will vary depending on driving style. Our white 06 did fine on 90 hp while our mineral grey burnt a little on 60hp. This of course was on a 1000 ft tall dune, with aired down tires and a lot of audience :-laf
