How do you think the new Smarty box would work with a single turbo like a SPS 62 or maybe even a small set of twins like the Arctic Air twins from Relentless Diesel. Besides the obvious transmission and Fuel system upgrades would this make a good daily driver/towing set up? Any input would be appreciated. Thanks.

Welcome to TDR!

I think it will be great with a SPS62. At least, that's what I'm hoping since I'm putting mine in next week. It works great with the SPS66 that I already have, but it's a bit smoky on the bottom. Cleans up real nice, though. And it spools the turbo really quickly.

I'd recommend a single (like a SPS62) first, then upgrade to twins if you need to. I think you'll get better fuel economy with a single, and the Smarty won't be giving you too many EGT problems, if any.

On edit:

The Smarty isn't available yet for the '06, but be sure to wait for it. It's worth it!

welcome to the TDR. yes, I am very happy with my Smarty and Silver Bullet, which is a slightly larger turbo than the Phat Shaft 62

hope this helps

I just got my smarty tonight, I've tried the 30hp and 60 hp programs with timming, i am also running a SPS62, both together are very nice, i'll put 100 miles on them tomorrow and i'll know better.

The SPS62 is a nice daily drive even by itself with little or no fueling enhancements, i've been running it for about 4 months now.

Rick

Let me know how the EGT's are with the Smarty. I checked out your Truck Specs and noticed you had twins, any reason for the switch to the SPS62. Can you compare the twin set-up vs. the single? I also would like to thank everybody for their input.

You're going to want to keep that MP-8! If nothing else, send it in for the TST program update, so you can run a triple stack. (Of course, since you're running a Silver Bullet I'm assuming that you either have or are going to get a TST)

thats what I am thinking, but I have to get a FASS, studs, and a transmission first, and then its Oo. Oo.
