Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) smarty

could someone please explain how the smarty works,and also will it work with the edge juice?

my truck is a 2002 dodge.

Its a programmer, you plug it into the OBD2 port under the dash and reprogram the ECM that runs the engine. There are 10 different programs that have various levels of performance. It will work with your Edge Juice, but you will want to run one of the programs that does not add additional timing (even number programs).



I have a smarty and Edge Drag Comp and they work well in tandem.

I use the Smarty with stacked boxes on my 2002, you just have to use the right number for your application. Also check Web Site for new downloads often.

Smarty and Edge Juice/attitude

I replaced VP44 with shovp44 (HRvp44)



Injection Industries suggested I use the Smarty with the new inj pump, which by the way is very very strong, and I believe claims that it adds 30% over stock output, a big number!



Here is Edges' response to my concerns about compatibility. Perhaps I should try their recommendations and tap the PGM



Phil, The Juice is very adjustable and it should work just fine with your new pump. You can go into the Low Boost fueling setting adjust it to the lowest setting for less smoke, it comes set at 3 for factory default so you can adjust it down from what it was before. So while I have been told the Smarty is the best controller, I would like to get the maximum use from the Edge Attitude, Juice. I like the controls, alerts, and datalogging of the Edge which makes it worth the cost without all the power capability which I largely get from the shovp44. I tow an enclosed trailer of 9,000#
