I have the black version which seems to be holding up just fine. I sent you pics at your email address listed at dieselram.com. Is this correct?

I just fired it off again. That was the address I used before. It was nice when we could post pics here at the TDR.

i've been looking at getting one of those, they look nice. Question though for you guys that have one... do you know if it will work with the factory tow hooks??

The Outland Sport Bumper Guard is definitely a nice product for mounting lights, but I would definitely not use it to push or pull anything with. Because of this, I was not willing to give up my beefy Mopar tow hooks!

The two accessories mount to the same location of the frame and thus were not intended to be used together. There were two options that I had come up with, however. The first was to have a special bracket fabricated, while the second was to modify the Mopar Tow hook brackets. I was able to drill holes in the sides of the two hook brackets and hang the sport bumper guard directly on these. The angles are not perfect (not quite 90-degrees) with this method and result in a few degrees of flex at the mounting location from the smittybilt, but it is not noticeable and is probably still more sturdy than the smittybilt bracket would have provided.

thanks dresslered... that's kind of what i was thinking. how hard of a job was it to modify the mounts?? would i have to get real creative, or is it a fairly simple task? do you happen to have any pics of yours?

I've got some pics of the the truck showing the results but none of the bracket assembly (my digital camera died which I will be replacing shortly). If you send me your email address via PM I can send you the pics and perhaps even a quick drawing of my mod.
