i have been seeing a good bit of black smoke when i am accelerating and get around 2500rpm,i have my comp(without wire hooked up) set on 3x5(i know that it is basically an ez without the wire hooked up) my question is is this normal or is it a sign of something wrong? i am reading 30 psi boost.

2500 RPM's

Do you have any codes? I just had a map sensor go bad and it was pumping out ALOT of smoke. I was getting a P0236 and a P0237 code.

i never thought of checking for codes i will see,it only does it when i am getting on the highway and accelerating hard at 2500 rpm or above. thanks for the suggestions

Wade, I was getting 30 to 32 LBS and also had a BIG boost leak. The orange gasket was gone that's at the 1st joint

Wade, I see we have trucks that are very close to the same. I retorque my PDR boot clamps every 3 weeks and they are loose. They should be at 95 inch LBS. Do you still have a stock turbo? I have the PDR HX35 w/ 14cm waste gate

Oh yeah, still stock in the air dept. The boot came off because I didn't replace it properly after having the airhorn off.

I'll be getting a big turbo eventually, but don't plan on running much over 45psi--we'll see.

Dont know if this helps or not but... with just 275's, I smoke just a little during acceleration and "heavy" take offs. However when I roll on it in third, and the rpm's hit about 2500, I see a large amount of black smoke... much more so than usual. Again this is only when accelerating hard and the rpm's are up there.

Its not a huge amount like a wildly bombed rig, but very noticable trail behind me.
