I need a '93 T'stat housing...

PSD starting problems

Hey anyway, I had a ferd with a 7. 3 non-turbo with the fuel turned up a we-bit, and I used to tow a trailer that weighed about 4K, well one day a guy in a miata cut me off in a way that I don't prefer to be cut off, then got in the other lane. Next thing you know my exhaust was just shy of his windshield, and his top was down at the light (priceless #ad
)... ... you got it, another day for a third gear start, don't know how it was for him, never saw him ha ha.

Alright, now everyone tell me how much of an arshole I am for doing this, and I'll go turn myself in #ad

This string should have been titled "second hand smoke, fun, not harmful. " Isnt it nice to know youv'e got it if you need it. . Enough about bicyclist, already.

Good story R. E. I was hoping someone would steer the topic back on smoke stories (fun) and away from bicycle etiquette (sucky)

I know it's legal, It's just not smart. Tons of steel and the fragile human body don't mix. Unprotected people should stay away from the road. Its the bicycle riders choice, I just don't respect their intelligence. What would you think if you saw a skateboarder inside the fog line holding up traffic? Probably something to the effect of "what an idiot". I rest my case.

I rode motorcycles for years. AMA district roadrace champion 81,82,83,84. Made my living with them for years. Street riding is asking to get hurt. Even when the driver of the car is wrong, it still hurts when he hits you.

hey guys whats REALLY #ad
is when we have a cummins convoy and we get all of us to smoke the same guy----- #ad
#ad
and he's dumb enough to sit there looking #ad

Charlie,
The smoke stories are rather amusing. You on the other hand should have been arrested. If it had been me on the bicycle I would have beat the crap out of you then sued your sorry butt.

Somebody opened their car door into my dad when he was riding his bicycle to work - total accident. Ended up costing the guy ~$10k out of his pocket. That was not punitive damages either - settled out of court, the guy couldn't do enough to get this resolved as quickly as possible.

Miners lung, anyone ? My favorite sport is to wait for a tail gater, doesn't take long here in NJ, and then smoke 'em at the next stop. Once is usually enough to keep them back, twice will almost always work. As far as those Stangs go, If I pull up to one with the obnoxious "thump, thump, thump" AND if his hat is on backwards, my truck always seems to start off in the wrong gear. Maybe I should have this checked. #ad

I respect a MC rider more than a bike rider becuase that whole SPEED LIMIT thing comes into play. When you can ride a bike at 65MPH or even 35MPH its all good. And If a biker ever rides up next to me and kicks my ride he will be sh*tting chains and sprockets for a long **** time lol.

As for the tailgators, a friend of mine had a Bronco II with a 302 in it. Healthy little motor with spark plugs in the tail pipes lol. Had some girl pull up real close one night so he rapped her up and lit the tips up. Pulled away and saw two brown spots on her white honda lol... Opps. I imagine they washed off I hope.

Was driving home from work the other day when some teeniebopper chick in a beat up honda accord was trying to climb up my but, I find tailgators to be rude and quickly tired of her behavior. I continued doing the speed limit untill we got to this steep little hill and I slowed to about about 1400 rpm in 4th and proceeded to lay some smoke! Could'nt even see the Honda for about 4 seconds. She dropped way back afterwards #ad
The best part was my wife (she knew what was going to happen) was in her car behind the teeniebopper and she got a big kick out of the hole ordeal. The wife says the teeniebopper had both of here windows down #ad

Is it me or are these cyclists starting to sound like a bunch of whining, sniveling animal rights activists,,Ok,,They do have a right to some roadway,BUT,on the other hand if they think I'm wating for their inconsiderate rears to move out of the way for me,I DO NO THINK SO!!Too many of these cyclists have the I OWN THE ROAD and YOU'LL WAIT FOR ME ATTITUDE,,Most of the are equipped with helmets with rear view mirrors, and SHOULD understand a faster overtaking object would like around,,Those who share the road,I'll pass politely,,Those who do not GET THE WHOLE SMOKE SHOW,,And as far as kicking anyone's rear,Well over the years I believe that all of us have been on both ends of beatings,SO THREATS are ludicrious,,An old man once told me,Son if your going to jump in the yard with the big dog,be prepared to be bitten!!!Takes two to tango... . nuff said... ...

Hammer, I've avoided posting to this topic up till now even though Charlie really blew my stack. The reason for all the bicycle posts are from his post:

Totally agree Larry. They aren't licensed, don't pay property tax and aren't required to have insurance in case they scratch you sneaking between the traffic and curb while stopped at light. Did get a laugh the other day. Stopped at light in granny lane, happened to look in mirrow and see one coming between cars. Wait till he gets about to back and then opened door. Dumb b-----d wound up in street all scratched up.

When I lived in the San Francisco bay area I commuted on a bicycle - and I'm definately NOT a tree hugger (FAR from it). His post was absolutely blatantly stupid - that bicyclist did absolutely nothing wrong or illegal. Charlie decided to injure a totally innocent individual just because that person chose to ride a bicycle. All I can say is he should be glad that it wasn't me that was on that bicycle - because he would have been hauled from the site by ambulance. There are idiots out there no matter whether they choose to drive a truck or car, ride a bicycle, or walk - BUT from Charlies description this individual did nothing wrong and he decided to injure him out of spite.

-Steve St. Laurent

If the bicyclist chose to ride beside the row of cars, disobeying traffic laws, then he was, plain as day, stupid. Bike riders can be cited for doing dumb crap like trying to ride between a row of parked cars and the traffic, or trying to straddle the center line.

Of course, just opening the door to catch soome guy and busting up him and his bike is wrong... but doing so to stop him from getting mowed down by cross traffic could be kind.

Frankly, the jerks with the thumping cars and tin cans to amplify thier tailpipes deserve an equal rudeness, IMHO... and a puff of black soot just might get the point across. But just riding a bike, and doing so sensibly isn't any cause for being rude or dangerous to them.

You guys and your smoke stories and tearing me up! #ad
I can't stop laughing at the better stories. #ad
I wish I had a, "majic smoke button," so I could enjoy showing my displeasure at bad drivers.

About the bicycles, I haven't had any trouble with them. I give them their space, they give me mine. I've never even given a bicycle rider a 2nd thought, because generally I find them no trouble at all (just my own personal experience). As far as where they ride, if they're on a street bike (vs a mountain bike) I wouldn't expect them to ride on anything but asphault or concrete.

But one thing I don't get is the little Jap thumpers you guys continually rip on. I think the "pierced guys" are pretty cheesey like you guys do. And I don't know why they want to waste their money on such stupidity as a radio designed to damage their ears, and a pipe big enough for a gopher to walk through. And why would any girl like that? But that's life, and everybody's different. They probably think we're stupid for owning a big slow fuel guzzling diesel (for all they know). I say, let 'em alone, give them NO attention, because the attention is what they thrive on. And besides, picking on them, for no reason, makes one look like they don't have any self confidence (like a bully). One day they'll grow out of it and who knows, maybe become good TDR members, especially since they'll already know it doesn't take a V8 to have fun! #ad
But now, if they're driving like an idiot, smoke away.

To sum up, all I'm saying is you may want to consider rechecking what gear you start off in, except for those idiots out there who's driving IQ barely rivals that of a box of rocks. For those drivers who deserve it, I'd like to hear more of these smoke stories. They're a hoot! #ad

JyRO, I'm with you. But Deezul 1 did what I would not have thought of. I would've used the almighty air horn, but a cloud of diesel love would be more satisfying.

Ditto on auto Trannies, thats what got me into a Cummins, couldnt find a 3/4 ton with a 5 speed unless it had a Diesel in front of it. Always had Ford trucks and was very happy with them but wasnt gonna go Powerstroke and here I am and lovin it.

I've read these types of post before and yes, they are funny and sometimes the people deserved it. Now the question is what do other people think of this "smoke" job on the one driver that cut you off two blocks earlier? In a way they might be thinking that guy deserved it since they witnessed that person cutting you off, however, they might be thinking that Diesels in general are always gong to smoke and they won't consider getting one in a new vehicle. So I'm wondering if this is hurting the reputation of diesels any? I doubt it. . but you never know.

Now the bike thing. I've read several opinions on people riding bikes in traffic where it's busy. Dangerous, YES, both for the motor vehicles and the bike rider. I've ridden my bike before in traffic and I respect the drivers since I know they are bigger and can go faster than I can. I also try to ride on the sidewalks when they are available (then you get walking pedestrians mad at the bikers too). Now whenever I come upon a bike rider in traffic, I'll wait until I have enough room to go around the bike rider. Right now I'm considering getting a cheap bike that I could ride back and forth to work, why? Save money (Gas prices are getting high) and to lose that wonderful belly I've gained in the past few years.

Okay, flame away if you want…but answer this question "What about those Grandma cars going 5mph and holding up traffic? - what is the difference between that and a bike rider?"

Steve,,I totally agree with the post you made,,An undeserving cyclist or motorist for that matter always gets my consideration,,But for every one of those types there are two of the others,,Deliberate and willfull intent of harm or malice is plain stupidity,,Now those who deserve and cross the line will get the other treatment(gotta stand my ground here),,I do realize that there are good and bad on both sides of the coin,,Seems like its time to "Lead by example"... ...

too bad my ram is stock and i cant make it smoke, but would love to see a HOnda all lost in smoke as most of those drivers due to some reason drive like idiots and have no respect for themselves or others,so a smoke bath would be very fulfilling indeed,i am still under warranty, but one day,one day i will write a story here too #ad

But see deezul1, those dudes walking in the road deserved it. They were being a$$holes. Your original story had me laughing so hard my wife kept asking me what was so funny. Just the picture of what you did under the circumstance still gets me cracked up. When I ordered my truck, I wish I had ordered the, "smoke screen option. " #ad

At some point (probably within a year), I'll go with the RV275's and probably the DD-TTPM. I'm not sure, but I'm doubting I'll see any smoke out of those (NUTS)! #ad

I'll have to depend on you smoke masters to keep all the bad seeds learned. So, learn 'em good!
