I decided to experiment with my Smarty by setting everything to sw #2 with everything stock on my revo program. Well, smoke is darn near non-existent,but the lack of timing advance sure killed the performance and predictably the egt's went up. With my constant camper load I can smoke up pretty good with sw#1 and timing on #2,everything else stock. That must be how Bank's does it,minimal timing advance.

i'm doing similar settings... sw7 with all the revo stuff set at stock. makes great power, can break loose my 34 inch toyos with 35lbs of air, relatively smoke free. lost a bit of mileage gains but when i do the math for potentially getting a ticket for excessive smoke, it makes up the difference... . imo. my egt did come up a bit but are in check.

with a stock trans and a big load you should stay on the lower numbers to save your trans. With a modded trans you can use the mid numbers on a regular basis. But watch it turning those big 35" tires can and will cost you. Numbers 8 & 9 should only be used for competion or just a little bit of fun. but not for a daily use. number 9 for sure it will spin the clutch disc or the friction plates (whatever) and cause other damage from there
