Smoke good or bad

I have VA CPC PS boost fooler 4' exhaust amsoil air filter. I would like to install larger injectors on my truck but everything I have read so far says that anything bigger than DDI's will make to much smoke. My question is does to much smoke going to hurt my engine in any way.

All that the black smoke is, is unburned fuel. Any yes it will fowl things up if not burned out. It will also eventually plug the muffler (if any). Worst part at the price of fuel much is "going up in smoke"!!

The "soot" can also tend to gum up the injector tips. However that is true without any mods. The best way to avoid that is the work the engine. These engines are not made to just putt around all the time. They need an occasional load to heat them up and clear the tar and soot out to keep everything clean and working properly.

I was also worried about smoke. While at MayMaddness I decided to try them anyway. (I had long talks with Hvac and Joe D. ) Diesel Dynamics latest stage 3 injectors for the 2001 work great! I have no problem controlling smoke. If I leave my box off there is almost no smoke at all. I have to short shift to really get more than a heavy Puff.



I was warned about the early stage3's. (Black Body?)They are good injectors but can produce heavy smoke under the right/wrong combinations.

Sixspeed, smoke is a very personal matter Immediately after installing my injectors and HX-40 and trying out the combo with the fueling box cranked up I was appalled at the amount of smoke I could produce, thought Greenpeace would be after me any minute However, I've found that my right foot has become recalibrated and the smoke is completely controllable, even though I leave my fueling box turned up about two-thirds. I've also found out that a dense cloud of smoke applied liberally, and rarely repeatedly, is a wonderful deterrent to tailgating. I think most people figure you're about to explode and they'd better get the heck away from you
