Has anyone installed a smoke switch, if so how did you do it. I have an Edge EZ on my truck and I think it will work with that chip, what I need to know is what parts am I going to use and which wires do I tap into.

Do what? You already have a smoke switch -- an Edge EZ, a manual transmission, and an accelerator pedal. Simple as gearing up and standing on it.

I don't know the details, but he is talking about a switch you wire in that fools the map sensor into thinking there is more boost at low RPM so it fuels harder and blows smoke.

HaHa, yes that smoke switch works fine but I like to be extra obnoxious sometimes:-laf

Yes JCasper that is what I am talking about doing, I know people have done it but it seems like no one likes talking about it.

Why would you ever want to do this? This is just me, but this is really stupid. All this does is push further emissions regs. While making diesel vehicles looking very bad in the general public. Why would you want your truck to smoke? I am not a tree hugger but I think this is a bad idea.

It is kinda stupid, but I am not gonna do it all the time, that is why I want the switch. From what I have read it is also a cheap way to dump in more fuel at lower RPMs and get harder launches.

My Smarty fuels plenty hard on the bottom end, I have no need for one.

I have just heard about it, but not how to do it.

Here you go- have fun.

On edit: It sounds like all you have to do is block the signal wire going to the edge box and you recieve full fueling. This would be easy to try simply by cutting the signal wire on the edge side of the harness and seeing what happens. I've also seen where a guy ran the +5v wire into the signal wire thru a switch to fool it into seeing max boost. I'm not sure which method is better. The latter invloves tapping two wires, though- so I'd try the signal wire alone first as you have to cut it anyway. If it works its easy to install the switch from there. Let us know the results if you decide to try it.
