hello everyone. i would just like to know if this is normal. i noticed the other day when i got fuel($1. 80/gal) the other day. it was night so i could see the haze from my stacks under the light. the haze had a blue tint to it. i looked at my pryo gauge and it was at about 275*. is this normal or am i burning oil. i looked at the dip stick and it was at the full mark. thanks richard

I am guessing that it was kinda cold huh? I believe that is just raw diesel fuel. My truck smokes like that most of the time when I first crank it up. After it warms up it lets up a little bit, but still smokes at idle. The only thing that ever bothers me about this is how will we ever know when we are burning oil? :) You oughta see my truck when I go to Denver. It looks like a pro street truck. I guess not enough air.

it was about 30* or so outside. i drove the truck for about 35-40 min before i got fuel. it was all warmed up. im guessing this is normal. 370's are a lot of fuel.

Mine does it too with the 370s. One easy way to tell if it's diesel smoke or oil smoke is to go back and stand next to the tailpipe. If it starts to burn your eyes it's diesel smoke, if not it's oil or something else.

Oops, I never thought about that flower bed. When we were in Denver last year for Christmas I dropped my wife off at the grocery store in Arvada. While I was putting through the parking lot a lady in a Jeep Cherokee flagged me down and told me that she thought my truck was on fire. I told her that I had a fire extinguisher and I would keep an eye on it. She did not look to amused.

thanks everyone. i thought it was normal but i just had to check. i love the way my truck starts in the morning when its cold out. the lope its way to cool and gets a lot of looks :D

LMAO :-laf :-laf

Your truck may have been warmed up, but sitting and idleing while fueling, will cool the cyl. temps enough to start making white smoke. Mine does it too. As said before, it's the 370s. :)

Gee maybe I have 370's in mine then... or I'll just tell myself that. Mine will always smoke untill it is driven a bit. Idling alone only slightly diminishes it. No flower beds (or wife! :D) but works great to get rid of noisy neighbors that babble and listen to rediculously-bassed music. Works great. Gets rid of the car next to you too when you are in rest areas and run the engine for heat.
