Changing a %^$&* Dodge Oil Filter

Resale on Rams maybe not good!

Was hauling a car for a friend and came to a stop light. I took off and notticed a guy behind me on a little motorized scooter, So I put it in fourth gear and mut the hammer down and the smoke started rolling out the pipe. I never laughed so hard. He was turning his head and getting over. I just love for motor cycles to get behind me hahahahahah:D :D Oo.

I like driving in town and watching all the people in there little cars driveing all over the road trying to get away from a smoke cloud as soon as they get away from one start another makes me chukleOo. Oo. :D :D

JBrookshire,

Did the guy on the scooter do something to tick you off?

If not why the smoke-out?

Stuff like that is why I keep a couple of 3/4" nuts in my jacket pocket.

Life is difficult enough on two wheels in normal traffic. :(

Ditto. I too ride a motorcycle. It is dangerous enough in traffic on a clear day, without getting smoked. If the smoke was thick enough he could have been in danger of wrecking. I dont know you, and therefore will not try to judge you. But you seriously need to pick your victims wiser. Messing with cycles should be stopped. The most I have ever done to a cycle rider is to turn on my windshield wipers/washer if they persist in tailing me too close.

Sorry

Please dont try to sue me please??? Diddent really think about it through the guy on the scooter. I guess it is just one of those things you do without giving it to mutch thought. I think it goes through every dieselholics mind one time or another,or a convertable car????? :( Justin

I used to smoke guys on the little scooters and mopeds all the time and don't have any regrets about it because they were well known to riding that scooter or moped because of a DWI conviction.

I hope it gave them one more reason not to drive drunk.

Another BUTT Chew'n...

Being a Goldwing rider, I don't believe I see the humor in smok'n the poor guy on the 2 wheeler, he's just out there "trying" to enjoy the fresh air. :p

Now on the other hand. I remember quite a few years back, I was driving a '74 KW Conventional with a radically turned up 350 Cummins. I had come to a stop sign and noticed the New Mexico DOT officer behind me. I just couldn't resist walking hard into the throttle. I am realize that this is just a perspective thing, 'cause he did NOT see the humor in it. Fortunately just a lecture and an OK commercial inspection. (His drivers window was rolled down.

Backroad...

You never laughed so hard? Some have led more interesting lives than others. Dont be suprised when some bad cat follows you home & puts a thump on you. people like that do exist and people like you will eventually run into one. JTMcC.

I think we've beat-up on this dead horse enough.

I hope we all agree there's a time and a place for smokeouts.

Unnessesary smoke-outs will just help the EPA justify emissions inspections for diesels. :(

I have smoked out several bikes pretty badly, and they have ALL gotten the hint with a maximum of 2 smoke blasts. I have had idiots on bikes and scooters both follow me WAY too close. I smoke them without reservation. The guys that are doing it like the should be doing it never have to worry about me. I don't know about you but peeling one of them out of the running gear in the back so I can go home is not something I want to do. There are a lot of guys riding the two wheelers that need to get their heads out of thier posteriors, and there are a lot of guy riding the two wheelers that are doing it right. Smoke out the idiots, and let the good guys roll, MHO.

Every body has a 2 wheeler now

You guys make me laugh:D I guess I will only do it to the dummys and to people I know. But I have never had some one follow me home cause when the smoke cleared I was gone hahahahahahahah. Not really but no one has tryad to give me a five nuckle sandwitch yett, and hope never I am not that kind of guy. Justin

I have no problem with motor cycles nad scooters. I love smokin' the Boulderite and Boulderite wannabe's with their cute little spandex outfits on their bicycles on two lane roads with no shoulder. They think they own the road and in Boulder they do.

Here in the bay area,CA ... people always Tailgate:mad: ... so my truck puts out alot of smoke, needless to say... it ends tailgating REAL QUICK... specially my death clouds with T/C locked and my big 18cm housing brake stand while full thottle... sends a Joe D. type cloud out for 20 seconds ... ... but yeah. . keep it moderate guys. . i have to,people notice my clouds, they are bad:p

smokin 'em

IF the guy on the bike is minding his own business and riding safe, i appeal to you to let him enjoy his ride in safety, and without soot on him. i love my truck. i also love my harley. if i were smoked by a truck with a TDR emblem on it, i would feel betrayed by a brother. fun is fun, but don't forget the "golden rule".

Probably one of the best reasons(long term) to exercise restraint with the smoke pedal, is that the more times people see a diesel truck leaving behind a big cloud of black smoke, the more likely they'll be to support ever more restrictive laws on diesel engines. It's self preservation. I ain't saying never do it, but pick your times.

As both and motorcyclist (ZX9R) and a spandex wearing bicyclist, I find this type of behavier childish at best and dangerous at worst.

What kind of inadequacies do you have in your life that you have to make life miserable for others on only two wheels? Does it make you feel that much better to threaten someone on a highway when they at the most are protected by leather and your are surrounded by 7500 lbs of steel?

Learn to share the road. Take the time to look up the state regulations on bicycling. Yes, we do own the road just as much as you do. And while your f#(king with people, remember that we vote and write our congressmen/women pleading for changes when there is something we see that needs changing. Like emmission controls on diesels and the ability to modify beyond stock.

Now I don't like govenment restrictions any more than the rest of you. I even practice my second amendment rights while cycling. Even though I would never get on my motorcycle without a helmet and leathers, I fully support my brothers of the roads rights to choose to go helmetless. But d@mnit, keep f#(king with people and I'll be asking for changes. I don't want to, but I don't like being threatened either.

I am an enthusiastic owner of two Cummins powered Dodges who somehow manages to drive responsibly. Do I have a halo around my head when I drive, he11 no! But I am man enough not to get my jollies off endangering others.

CHILL OUT

WOW I guess that diddent make you laugh like me hahahaha. We arn't talking about a cloud of smoke like you can't see, just a little smokejust a fogOo. Come one where is your cummins pride???? But I hope you get bettrt:D about this {fog} and loosen up and live life to it's fullest:D not angery:{ ????

Justin,

If you havent got the message yet, the majority of people do not think it is funny, nor do they think it shows pride, in smoking two wheelers. Smoke a Powerstroke or a Duramax, but leave the innocents alone. I used to race bicycles in college and can tell you that any distraction, while in traffic is dangerous. Sucking up the smoke from your exhaust is not my idea of fun. As I have mentioned before, choose your victems wisely. If all these negative posts have not quite sunk in yet, I will spell it out more clearly. ITS NOT FUNNY TO ANYONE BUT YOU.

Mike,

The issue isnt the hypocracy of the board, and their willingness to produce a smokey engine, then turn around and flame someone for using the smoke. The issue lies in the immature use of the smoke, and the inherrent danger involved in using it on two wheeled vehicles, for no reason.

I have seen the aftermath of drivers on motorcycles that get distracted and or cut off. Brains all over the highway, and a crumpled body under a car, truck, or 18 wheeler isnt a pretty site. Most of the time it isnt the 2-wheelers fault, but a person in a larger vehicle not paying attention, or worse yet, not caring. I myself have been run off the road on my motorcycle, as well as my bicycle by drivers who thought that they owned that part of the road, and by drivers who thought it would be funny to just give me a little scare. I didnt get hurt during these incidents, but the lingering picture of them laughing as they drove away just permanently pi$$ed me off.

Nuff said for now.
