Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) snap ring-not so snappy

Wanted to hear a little more whistle so i tried taking out the silencer ring, I cant get the snap ring off Is there a secret to this or what? only thing i did was scratch the inlet a little. Small screwdriver doesn't seem to work like other posts suggest. . Leaving it in for now no choice.....

you just have to work at it a little bit. i took two small screwdrivers one on the end of snap-ring and pryed up while the other i took and pryed out so it couldn't go back in the grove. i did that the whole way around till it was out.

Finally got the darn thing out and sweet music to my ears! Nothing like listening to a High output cummins whistling threw the gears... . Whats next, maybe DD1's and 4" Exhaust
