Hey all...

Ok... so, I take the truck up to visit a friend here in Pottsville, PA and we're driving around town... and wham...

... I step on the throttle and NO rev at all!! We get under the hood and notice one of the cable to the throttle body, more or less, snapped.

It's not the main cable on the top that seems to actually open the TB - but rather another cable on the bottom - a tentsion cable?

Basically, i NEED to get the truck back to NJ. . in the AM we're gonna try to rig up a solution by taking out the slack on the main throttle cable, so when I hit the gas - the TB actually opens up - rather than it just moving around in the 1-1/2" of slack that is there now...

Any thoughts... . ideas... anyone local to Pottsville, PA!?!

Thanks,

Jay

You need a TRAVEL COMPANION.

See the option at the top of the page and search for a town near you, or, the whole state as I did because I don't know the state. PA has 30 TDR members willing to help out. Give one of them a call.

Thanks... I totally missed that guide.

I think the rod going to the injection pump broke... any ideas if this can get fixed quick to get me home??

Thanks Jeff... well - I made it home... used AAA to haul it back for me. Then yesterday, since it was actually sunny - I saw what happened.

The linkage adjustment screw on the throttle rod to the inj pump snapped! I rigged it with a metal coat hanger and drove it up to the local diesel shop... . looking back, I should've just kept it and fixed it myself - looks fairly straight forward.
