Attention: TDR Forum Junkies 
We went to West Yellowstone last year and rode the park for a day. Spent another on the trails around the area. Spent the last day out in the boonies. No guide but had a blast.
My friend went out a couple weeks later. They hired a guide and spent almost all their time in the back country. He is also a racer and said he did stuff on a sled that he never thought possible. It seems their guide gave them a few deep snow lessons. If you are from the midwest, it's closer to watercross than trail riding!!
