im intresting in building a small cheap plow for my truck. .

nothing big im not going to use it more than cleaning up

some small roads instead of starting my backhoe all time in wintertime

and cold weather.

i have hydraulic cylinders and 12volt hydraulic pump. .

or i will maby use a winch to lift it. .

but i want to know how i should make the mount and how long under the

truck i should mount it?

have anyone made somthing like this and have

pictures or knowlage to share with me?

i dont want to buy a new one they are to expensive

and its impossible to find used ones here in finland

my father in law just did a snow plow for his uni loader/ back hoe... . he cut holes in the plow where the fork attachment would go and just picks up that way..... nice and simple..... but i guess you would need to have a fork set up also for this too work... .

i want to mount it on my truck. . dont want to use my old backhoe anymore cause its old and cold. . also i need to travel 10miles to my parents and work there also so the truck would be easy to use on both places. . i can manage to get the plow right but the mounts is a bit of a problem how should i bolt it to my truck

I was going to suggest you find a used one locally that came off a Ram ... it will save you a tone of time and probably money in the long run. Then I see you are in Finland. Probably not a lot of used Ram parts there. Good luck!

I’ve made mounts for a couple of my trucks. I started laying out a plan for my 05 Ram but have decided against it for now. I was going to buy the mount this time but iirc it was like $550 for just the “carton” which are the parts that bolts to the frame of the truck and did not include the “lift frame”. http://ww2.meyerproducts.com/upload/forms/1-801R1 17135 mounting.pdf

Here are some more Meyer mounts for our trucks:

Check the other plow manufacturer websites for more ideas. The 3G frame looks plenty strong, just remember to spread out the load on the frame as much as possible.

I would start by finding a plow from another truck - preferably a Ram, but something else may work. Get at least 7. 5 feet wide - I prefer 8 feet (you'll have to convert to meters). Get an electrically operated hoist and power angle. You can then take the subframe and modify it so it works on your truck. You may be able to buy the parts that actually mount to your truck's frame and then build off of that.

These trucks have been around long enough that you should be able to buy a good used plow for a reasonable amount of money.

Good luck,

there har nothing but lightduty trucks imported in europe. . all dodge furd and chevro**** is privatimport
so i may find somthing that will fit a little japs pickup but nothing else. . so i will do everything from scratch. . now i thing i will weld a plate between the frame the plate will hold a front hitch for a winsch so i can move my plow up and down the other side faceing down of the plate will have 2 plow mounts. .
or i simply use electric hydraulics. . have a old 12v cargo truck as spareparts if i need it. .
or my old lift/tilt from a sterndrive

Do some searches for snowplow manufacturers and see if there are any exploded views on their sites. Search for Meyer Products Company, Western, Boss, Curtis, Fisher, and Blizzard. You should find some ideas. At least you should be able to buy a used moldboard from some kind of truck or farm tractor. Check with your local road department as they may have some smaller used plows for sale.
