Hey guys, a search through the Grainger, McMaster-Carr, and Parker Hydraulics catalogs failed to turn up anything resembling a "snubber". Needle valves, yes, check valves, yes, but which one are you using? Got a brand name, and part number?

I'm certified in industrial hydraulics, and it's not a term we use on this end of the country. Two visits to hydraulic supply stores, and 5 phone calls, one to a guy with 30 years hydraulic experience, and nobody ever heard the term.

A more comprehensive, detailed explanation would be much appreciated by a few of us in the TDR ! It's been explained before, but no details were included.

Brand name, part number, real name as printed in catalog...

Thanks !

Briar,

Go to http://www.grainger.com

If you run a search with keywords "gauge snubber", you'll get the following:

Stainless Steel Gauge Snubber

$17. 25 - ship today

Grainger item # 4ZC25

Sun Hydraulics NSABKXVBA-Q139

Catalog page 3085

This is what I'm running. Works fine. ;)

You searched for Keywords matching guage snubber.

Check your spelling. It's gauge, not guage as you have above. That's probably why it couldn't find it. :D

Edit - I just tried it using gauge snubber as keywords and it went right to it! ;)

Thank you, Rusty! :D Much appreciated! Counterman at Grainger was less than helpful. If they haven't heard of it, they won't even bother to look for it ! I asked them twice...

Briar;

The industrial term may be damper or arrester. Snubber or bumper is more colloquial usage.

Grainger desk techs reminds me of Checker or Schucks or Krager counter people. Lights on , but ...

Here you go http://www.grainger.com/images/catalog/1421.GIF lower left corner. Gauge snubber is a item that is usually used with high pressure positive displacement sprayer pumps, never seen them used with hydraulics.

If you do a Granger search you only will get the Sun Hydraulics one. I recently found 1/8" M x F needle valves in the Grainger catalog for $3. 29, new item you won't find in a search. Perfect for a fuel pressure gauge. http://www.grainger.com/Grainger/productdetail.jsp?xi=xi&ItemId=1612835462
