"Chipped" PSD?

My idea with this Thread is for us to post where the best priced diesel is in So . Cal.

Today, Mother's Day, I am buying #2 from a "USA Gas Station" on Santa Monica Blvd. just West of Fairfax Ave. I have gotten it there for years, and they are usually pretty low priced--but not always. A few days ago they were 2. 39/Gal.

Where have you recently gotten a good price for Clean #2?

Do you have to be a student or faculty member to buy gas there?

Is there anyway I can join some club or something so I can buy #2 there?

Come on down, only three pumps and the diesel nozzels are locked, you have to ask for a key, the powers that be don't want some idjit filling up their BMW with diesel. Open to all comers, takes major credit cards.

All of us Diesel heads need to organize along with the truckers. They have to be hurting. They are paying the same amount we are. And in the rest of the country diesel is ... for sure not 2. 10 - 2. 50. The fuel is the same in all parts of the country.

Not to start an argument, cause I hate paying it as much as the next guy, but Diesel Fuel sold in CA in subject to further refinement for low sulfur regulations. It isn't the same fuel sold elsewhere, and CA has some of the highest road taxes around. The combination of the two along with greedy oil companies makes for an expensive tank of fuel.

$2. 39 at Union 76 corner of Kraemer/Orangethorpe in Anaheim.

I called their phone number and they told me the intersection. Then when I went down there I inadvertantly left the directions at home! But I remembered what you said, that it was near the DMV. And I remembered what the place looked like from the USC Gas website. It was pretty easy to find. I'll go back!

If California fuel is so special then why are we paying almost as much for diesel here in Washington State?? Cheapest I could find today was $2. 24 :(

Also if is is so special how come every time the price on a barrel of crude goes up the next day it is up at the pump? They are not refining the higher priced crude yet, we pay for it. It is a big scam and certian companys are getting over rich off us!

Wally world in east Palmdale on 47th $2. 43

I saw an article in Successful Farming Magazine a year or so ago, where they pumped out the rusty sludge from the bottoms of 10 or 12 big farm diesel storage tanks. I could not believe the amount of rusty sludge and gunk that came out of those tanks! Buckets and buckets full! One of the recommendations they had was to let the tank sit for 24 hours after getting them filled, so the sediment which had been stirred up by the refill would settle.

Is the #2 you contracted for dyed red? Just curious!:D

I hope you meant $1. 61 a gallon ;) If you're talking Red Diesel, than you're not talking apples to apples.

Vaughn, maybe they're trucking that special fuel up to WA for ya! We all know how much the Northwest loves CA:rolleyes: ... ...
