Wow Oo. !!

You guys never cease to amaze me..... in spite of forcasted heavy rain, this years wrench day was a big turnout once again. The truck count was right about the same as last year, inspite of the rain we still brought out close to 40 trucks again, and once again we brought out some new faces!

The Bratworst and Burgers were quite tasty!! A MAJOR thank you goes out to my lovely wife Misty for feeding us all and to Doug Mosher for managing the BBQ's (From which I have been banned :p )

Additionally, I would like to personally thank the following for their help in making sure things were done and well taken care of.

  • Ramon Perez - Pre/post event help and mechanical help.
  • Fred Danner- Mechanical Support
  • Bob Goodwin - Mechanical Support
  • Pablo Madrid - Mechanical Support
  • Jerry Nielsen - Assistance
  • Tom Bolitho - Mechanical assistance and tools
  • Everyone Else for Braving the weather!

Special thanks as well to my boss and the owners of South Coast Photographic, Inc. for allowing us the space and garage for this to take place.

Our next even will be announced shortly, thanks again to everyone for making thisa great time.

Kevin

We all want to thank your bosses for the use of the facility. And a thanx to your wife for her help. It made the Wrench Day a success. Thanx, tom

You all got some nice looking rigs down there, looks like a great time. One of these days we should try a NORCAL/SOCAL meeting at a central location that would be cool :)

BBD

BBD- That is certainly something we can and want to do. Nowell and I had spoken about doing it before his passing. We were thinking somewhere along the central coast would be a nice halfway point. We should definitely get a date and do it.

Kev

Thanks all around but especially to Ramon and Fred for helping with the install of my gauges... I really appricate your advise and assistance.

NOR.CAL/SO.CAL

:p Yeah Kev, let's roll up the coast, bring the WEBER and the CARNE ASADA, leave the wives @ home w/the credit cards or bring them if they'd like to hear a bunch of boring shop talk... :p

Glen,

How are the gauges working out??? (Vision??) I installed my isolater and relocated the pickup point after you left. The FP gauge reacted very slow to changes compared to the orignal isolater. Seems to be recating a little faster since the install.

Ramon

Hey Ramon, gauges are working fine... I nede to finish up screwing down the A-pillar and I was gonna get some type of loom to put around the wiring. I thought I was gonna have a problem seeing them clearly with my bad eyes, but once I got it out of the garage, I can see them fine.

I have found so far that I run around 14psi at idle and so far I haven't been able to drop it below about 9-10psi. It seems to react pretty quickly.

I have found from the pyro that it doesn't seem to drop below 300 when I idle. I read somewhere that somebody suggested to let it drop to 250 before turning off and other places I have read 300. Since it won't sem to get to 250, I guess I will go with the 300.

Thanks again for your help... . I couldn't have done it without you and Fred!

Glen, unless I let my truck sit for quite a while, I can't get it down to 300. Normally I shut mine off at 325 and have never had an issue, did the same with my 96 for years without issue.

I ended up wrapping the "Wrench Day" into a 2 day event... ... ... . Did a complete gauge install on my father-in-laws truck on Sunday:rolleyes: ... .....

So you guys can't say I didn't do any wrenching!!:p

Kev

Wow, that was a busy weekend for you Kevin.

Also another note on temp's... ... I have found with my automatic that if I leave it in drive (at a light, sitting, whatever), it stays at about 400, it won't drop further unless I put it in park, then it drops to about 300.

Glen,

I have noticed similar #'s on my neighbors 12 valve auto. My stick sits at 250 when I idle. On cool nights, 225. Maybe more auto guys can give you their temps.

Glen,

I am glad to here that your gages worked out ok. If your FP acts slow or does not go to”0” you can bleed some air out to correct it.

On EGT 350 is the norm to shout it down. Mine will set at 300+ all day at idle.

It was a good time for all.

GOOD JOB KEV

Kevin, Thanks for a great day. You and your family put on a very nice lunch and I appreciate your bosses letting us use their facilities. It was great meeting other guys with a similar love of CTDs and the mechanical help was great. Thanks again. Jim McCarty

Great day Kev, thanks to the boss for letting us use his parking lot. And I appreciated all the support from the guys watching me drill holes in the bed of a week old truck!! And the guys that helped out with labor and or tools really helped out, I couldn't have done it without you guys... ... ... . Thanks a million, Marty

Marty, I think most were drooling over your truck, not watching your install!!:p That is sure one nice looking truck!

I have updated the photo album with some new photos.

For everyone who couldn't make it, we will do this again. :D
