Now that I got everyone posting about their LED's how about all those switches you guys are installing? I know there was thread some time ago that was more 2nd gen oriented so now lets talk 3rd gen... . As always here is my setup... .

Strobe controlls

The three black are the three strobe modes that I have made:

Left - Wig Wag

Center - Basic Wig Wag Random speed with tail on

Right - Random patters with tail on

The top red is a push to pass it is a an all on button that keeps the ambers on solid as long as you push the button

The bottom red is strobe off and kills the strobe functions

The Yellow LED in the center stack is the strobe active indicator as well as the controller has a chirp that I created so I don't drive aorund like a lot of the cops do around here with their lights on for no reason... Ask me how I thought of that one though!

The switches on the lower section is for my window LED traffic director:

top left - Directional left

top right - Directional Right

top left & right - Center Out directional

bottom left - Chicago Rapid flash (outer end segments)

bottom right - Wig wag (inner segments)

bottom left & right - inner/outer chicago - VERY INTENSE

The ones on the over head are for an overide to the front daytime running LED's as they also work great for fog lights I found out and the other is for the XM Radio kill.

and by the way the Blue LED is out of center for a reason, I have it so it is centered over the center seat console (just before someone notices) :D

hmm, VERY nice. where did you get thos flat lighted toggle switches from? i have yet to install anything that requires switches but i plan on using lit aluminim toggles to the left of the radio. the 7 inch vertical area. nothing is behind that area so it should work nice. also as yours are all within easy reach and view.

great install photos.

Thanks, but have you looked behind that area? It is double walled and looked like a real pain to work with unless you are willing to cut a bunch... also do a lot of checking and double checking since the plastic behind the dash is shaped all over the place and places that look plently clear are not because of those areas... . I almost made that mistake...

true, i still have yet to pull it appart. i need to get the switches first so i know how much room i will need.

where did you get yorus at?

oops forgott

Oops I forgott to answe that part for you, I actually believe it or not bought them at Radio Crap they were inexpensive they did what I wanted and looking for opinions but thought they looked pretty good, in fact my buddy asked how I got factory installed switches... .

here is the link...

rocker switch

Radio?

What radio is that? I would love a double DIN radio. I got the stocker, then replaced with an XM receiver that I'm not really happy with. How does it sound? Thoughts?

I have the factory RB!

It is the factory RB1 nav unit and I have the Terk XM direct, although a pain is the ***** to get working right with my u-connect but it does sound great and I am happy I tinkered with it.

MCrossley, Sir whenever your in Indiana please let me know. My truck needs some LEDs too. :D

With all the LEDs and switches, how much do you think it has put you back???? Time and Money wise(if you dont mind me asking. If you mind, sorry. )

Heck Yeah I Mind.... Not :)

I am all for the sharing of into that is the point of this forum right? :-{}

I really have no idea what it has set me back considering I did so much building of things myself, I found some great pricing on e-bay and have some friends in the business, if you are ever interested in something in particular just PM me I will hook you up with whatever it is you would like... . And thanks for the compliments.

they are supposedly 25 amp rated, however I am a firm believer in relays then I don't have to worry about it plus I do not have to run heavy gauge wire all over the truck... .

The switches on the lower section is for my window LED traffic director:

What exactly is this for and why/when do you need it? Even if it only has an occasional use or is just for an emergency, it's cool! :D

Well unfortunatly I am one of those people in the rare world that like to help those that need help on the side of the road, I was almost hit one night when a guy did not see me and that was enough for me on my 01 to add hideaway strobes which significantly helped, but on my 05 I wanted cleaner looking setup and lower power consumption so I chose to go all LED. I also move trailers on a regular basis for my landlord in and out of the RV park and it is realy nice when you want to stop or block traffic to have something that looks somewhat official. It has come in handy on the freeway a few times as well when a car stalls and people are flying by to be able to pull up behind them and hit the arrow stick so that people know to go around... .

Actually without the Traffic director all of my LED lighting draws about 1. 5 amps... The traffic director is the power hungry one at 6 amps when fully lit so I really do not draw a whole bunch... .

Now I know why you want an extra battery... ... . :D

Herer is my setup, these switches are available through TDR member Slinse, just give him a PM if you are interested. He has actuators available for many different applications/acccessories

I never thought of installing switches in that overhead console. Thats a great idea! I am debating on adding some additional lighting to my truck such as a mini strobe light bar and some strobes in the tailights for when I plow with my truck. Your setup is great.
