3500 weighs 9,600; 2500 weighs 7,400

My 02 3500 weighs 9600 fully fueled (100 gal) 3 tool boxes, 5th wheel hitch, HD Brown's Welding brush/grill guard, side steps, headache rack and rear tube bumper. It's a beast.

My wife's 03 2500 weighs 7800 and has a tool box, HD Brown's Welding brush/grill guard, side steps and headache rack. Sweet!

big n heavy

3/4 ton, quad cab. --Mine comes in at about 8000lbs full of fuel, all my crap and goodies, tools,Raider camopy(400lbs i think),and me in it ---OH YES,add 200lbs for the 2 American bulldogs that love to ride in the back of the truck. Never seen two dogs that enjoy just being in the diesel truck, moving or not, they always run past the car and right for the truck, must like the sound or something. :D :D

Empty wt with me: 6700 lb. Summer 10-mile daily commute 15 mpg. Winter 13-14 mpg for the same route. Across town city driving: 16 mpg. Empty running 75-ish mph: 17 mpg. Empty running 60 mph on two-laners: 18 mpg. Towing 5000 lb Ford PU @ 60mph: 16. 5 mpg. Towing 5000 lb boat @ 45-55 across town 15. 5 mpg. Towing new-to-me 30 ft long 5th wheel "high" camper: 10 mpg.

98. 5 Quad cab with canopy and tool box 4 wheel drive. 8050 lbs with 170lb driver. I get and have since new 20 to 22 mpg consistantly. I have to qualify that though I just installed Mach 1 65 hp EdM injectors and have had my foot in it so I may have lost 1 or 2 mpg. 80K miles VanAAken box Afe filter Flowmaster 4" exhaust Dtt transmission.

Mine weighed in at 6000lb as I was leaving the dump last week. Amusingly enough, one of the items I left behind at the dump was the muffler/cat assembly. :-laf

I get about 20mpg.

The 89 Weighed...

I Don't know what the 2000 Auto QC 4X4 weighs, But the 89 CTD LB 4X4 LE with A/C weighed 5850. I think these trucks have gained wieght over the years, I know that I have. When I got the 89 I weighed 215, now I have the 2000 I weigh 245... . :p Moose

last weigh in was around 7600 with the ladder rack and tools. Im glad to say im getten between 18. 6 and 20 mpg. :-laf I do lots of under 65 driving! I live in the country and the only way to work is lots o back roads with a bunch o grey haired gezzers in front of me. I figger they have trash under the gas peddle err somfin.

Since EVERYONE else is still weighing in, I guess I will, too! :)

See Profile for list of goodies, but my 01 QC LWB w/ me & a Jobsite toolbox puts me @:

4600 +/- front axle

4950 +/- drive axle

9550 GROSS WEIGHT

I weigh +/- 250# and I'm sure the toolbox hits around 600#.

sure this thread is an old one, but its a good one, with no whining about regulations and all that. So, I thought I would add my truck. It sits at about 10,650lbs according to the scales. As it weighs out, it is still within the limits of the tires and each axle, but I'm looking into doing the 3500 conversion. (too many things on this truck to just buy another truck and try and switch it all over). I get, on average, 15. 5mpg, and I live in a hilly area, only about 10% of the driving is highway, most of the driving is paved backroads doing 30-50mph.
