So how many revolutions for you?

My shift knob gear numbers officially made their 3rd revolution today. Now, at least for the next 5k or so, they are right side up. How many "turns" have you guys got?

Zero. Mine never moved. The knob is highly polished from all the shifting though. I use armor-all on all my new vehicles (including the steering wheel, and shifter, against label warnings of loss of control), and I often use germ-X hand sanitizer, which rubs off on the shifter and wheel. I don't know if any of those make a difference.

this truck is going for its second, last truck I popped the insert and added a dab of silicone and solved the issue , this one haven't got around to it yet , but this one isn't as loose as the 03 was

That's funny :-laf , never thought I'd see that on here! I used a pocket knife to raise the black lip that goes over it a little & put a tiny drop of super glue in. It hasn't moved since.

Mine generally makes one revolution every 2500 miles or so. When it goes around twice, I know I'm getting close to an oil change.
