Right before I got my clutch replaced, I did my valves. The new few days I got my clutch done. The tech noticed I had a leak, little bit of oil comming right out of that vent for the clutch. I looked and maybe some oil leaked out when I had the valve cover off.

Hoping it wasn't the rear main. as the clutch came out. Good, rear main PERFECT, infact the back of the motor looks brand spanking new clean!

Today, I still have drips!!! check the rear vavle cover, no dropping out, little dirty, but nothing "new". look over with a flash light the vavle cover down looks clean from the bottom of the truck.

Now, as I scan over from ever angle, I notice the 2 middle bolts on the oil pan in the back by the trans have fresh oil on them, they must drip into something and down to the clutch vent. I don't think it's comming from within the vent. . not sure sure tho

So I get out my sockets and I turn each and every bolt 1/8 turn. I turned the rear 2 with oil on them, about 1/4 turn. .

So that's the story. I'm going to wash thigns down with cleaner now and see if more develops. .

Any other possible place oil could be dripping from? If this keeps up, a trip to the deal ship is next. still got 40,000 miles left on warrenty.

could possibly blow by from vent accumulating at the back of the motor from wind.

no, it's not that vent. the oil would have to make a 90 degree turn and go "up" 6 inches to beed on the head of the bolts on the back of the oil pan. The area around the vent tube was dirty-oily, not bad. typical, I suppose.

I de-greases the entire area after tightening the bolts. washed the truck, and took her for a spin and warmed things up and not a drop was there. I'll see about things in a week.

Only leaks left is the front pionion seal, that will be done next weekend. And there is a small coolent leak, it accumlates around the A/C compresser and on the front part of the oil pan. That Is very slow, like 1/2 the resovour in 1 years time. I figured I'd warrenty that next trip outa town when I have to fly some place...

Anyone have a clue exactly where that could be leaking? the first time I had that looked at last year they replaced the seals around the water pump. it worked for a bit I think. and started back up, don't remmeber how long it took tho.

I saw the same thing on my 04, started to worry. After close inspection, I thought it might be vapor coming out of the down tube accumulating on the pan and getting pushed around by the wind just like diesel 0904 suggested. I never had a drip but it was the first hint of a leak on the engine. I had not washed the engine compartment in a while.

I went upstairs and liberated a maxipad and zip-tied it around the end of the vent, problem over.
