So should I trade my 02 for a 04.5?

I am on the horns of a delemma. My 02 has been a good truck but I think I want to own a 04. 5. I cannot justify the trade but I just want one. PLEASE SOMEONE MAKE THE DECISION FOR ME!!!!!!!!!!!

What real benifits have you fellows seen with the new trucks. I know they are quieter and smoother. More input is needed. Thanks

Trying to justify trading a Cummins is like trying to justify hunting by saying you provide food for the family. The economics will never be an adequate justification. Get it if you want it. As mentioned, life is not a practice run.

Quieter, smoother, better brakes, better steering/handling, awesome tow mirrors, availability of a 150 hp box..... all this means nothing if you want one, you'll get one. You'll be happy too.

Just traded my 2003 Dodge Ram Hemi QC 4X4 for a 2004. 5 Dodge Ram 3500 4X4 QC. It is being built as we speak. Reasons: Turbo Diesel, more torque, better gas mileage, Cummins 24V, etc... Go for it, you will be happy!

Gonzo, I was in the same boat as you a year ago, had a perfectly fine 2001 HO! I made the mistake of coming by the 3rd Gen forums and going for a test drive. By then it was too late, I was screwed!

The Hemi is actually a very reliable and powerful engine. DC will not release their codes or work with the aftermarket to help in getting close to 500 hp's out of that engine. The only person close right now is Ken Bell and his blower get's it up to 515 hp's which should be out in a month or so. I drove one of my buddy's new 3500 and feel in love. For all the reasons posted above I bought a 3500. Yes, I finally saw the light.

You may as well do it! I did! I sold the White Obsession and bought an 04. See my signature. I wanted and got a pre-04. 5. I didn't want to have to worry about the Feds when I start Bombing!



Have you driven one yet? If not, go drive one! That will make your mind up for you!

I was just at the L. A. car show and if you need any coaching on what to do you go to the car show. Go and sit in the 2004. 5 3500 diesel on display then go look at the gmc,chevrolet,ford,toyota,nisson. I bet you buy the dodge.
