I have a SO 48re Quad 4x4 with an Edge EZ and AFE drop-in. On setting 6 I run a 15. 8 1/4mile. Since the Edge box can do 80hp(?) on setting 6, that would bring me up to ?HP. (I assume the with the Edge box on 3-4 I should be about the same as an HO power-wise)

Yes, I wish every day that I bought the HO.

Just wondering how my SO runs a 15. 8 when I see HO's running just about the same on the box. What have HO's actually run in the 1/4? Boxed? Just wondering if the Edge EZ is actually turning my SO up more than I think (maybe too much?) I don't want to kill it by running too much "Edge".

BTW - full guages and all numbers are good even on 6.

I drove both at the dealer and I know the HO has more power -just wondering if the Edge on an SO runs the fuel up to the same as it would on an HO (if that makes any sense) - Does the Edge increase by a percentage over stock or does it increase (pressure/Fuel) to a set level - same for a SO and an HO. Meaning that an SO and HO would be close to the same power with an Edge on same level? If so, then I would not want to run my box up high since I don't have the same internal parts as an HO.

I agree with PDog, our trucks are near twins 'cept I run an EZ, I can do 16. 9 at 88 starting in 2nd, without grinding any gears, I know I can get a little better but I'm not going to press my luck, yet.

BTW, I see 3400+ RPM when I romp it!

I was at the track this week with my 03 4x4/QC/shortbox with the HO and a 6-speed and 4:10's. Launching in 3rd was the only way to get going w/o spinning! My ET's were consistently 18. 1 seconds with a 1. 3 sec reaction time (eeeek). This is a 100% bone-stock truck, at least for another week :D

man our trucks are slow. dont get any big ideas and race a chipped duramax or 6L. they will stomp a hole in your rear.

edge boys we need the edge juice. now! we are being killed out here on the streets. 150 hp sounds alot better than 80hp.

the juice ought to get us in the the low 15's high 14's. now that sounds better.

huuuury edge!

If I wanted to race on the streets I'd have an automatic. But since I can't trust them I got a stick :)

And if I happen to be out of 3rd gear I'd still challenge the durastrokes :)

The truck flat hauls ass, shifting is the issue with mine!

Swivel, You don't have to worry about running the box on high. Internally your engine is just as strong as all of our 5. 9's. You can add at least 300-400 HP before any concerns of engine related parts breakage. :cool:Well maybe a head gasket but that's it. With any of the fueling Boxes or injectors for your Cummins just watch your EGT's and don't let them stay above 1250 deg (Pre Turbo) for extended periods. (Like more than 20 sec's). In other words during drag races just watch the Track and hammer down.

With our R&D we have been doing with the 03's there still is not much of a EGT concern. I am sure they (Monster Shower head injectors and Super Computer Fueling Boxes) are coming soon. We have a awesome Turbo (Direct Bolt in) ready and waiting for them when they show up. :D

Give me a PM or Email and I will give you a pointer or two that will drop your reaction time down closer to . 500

Another note: When Edge as well as most of the other Manufacturers rate their Horse power increases they don't necessary mean 80 HP gain on top of your rated HP. It will usually mean a 80 HP gain somewhere in the middle of your torque band. You would see less HP gain for your max HP numbers if tested on a Dyno.

All of PowerEdges products I have Tested, sold, and Installed have always been built well within the limits of your engines capabilities and keeping reliability and longevity in mind.

Honestly if they put out a box that would give 250 HP increase I would install it without a second thought. :D
