So what range do I get need in a FP gauge?, ive heard of some with 42psi

Hey I hate to sound stipid and Ive had gauges before but there's so many variables in these 3rd gens. First off my truck is stock but probably wont be fore ever. So Ive searched and have seen people fuel pressure at a steady 8psi, 12psi, 20psi, 30psi, 40psi, 42psi all steady numbers. I know I will be adding the Glacier fuel system in the future and have heard of 42psi all the time from Luken.



Well its time to pick out gauges and im very picky. So what range do you think I need. In a perfect world Autometer would make any gauge in any values. I'd rather not have a 0-100 and only use 1/4 of the gauge and have to sqint to see it.



So what realistic values to I need. I only use Autometer

I have the Autometer Phantom 0-30psi electronic, and it's great. I used a snubber and Geno's 30" hose between the banjo bolt (bottom of fuel filter canister) and the sender, but some guys claim that a snubber isn't necessary. For $10 I felt it was cheap insurance.

The highest pressure I've seen is around 24psi when coasting. However, I'm running an open unregulated bypass at the CP3, and the Glacier kit comes with a regulator. You should have no problem with regulating the fuel pressure to within the limits of the gauge. Unless you will be running a modified CP3, around 15-20psi should be great plenty.

In my personal opinion [opinion only], 40 or 42 psi is not a good idea. That's a great deal of pressure for the FCA to be dealing with. Remember that the CP-3 doesn't need much input pressure. Given that, then, if you assume a well thought-out LP fuel system will provide under 30 psi at the CP-3, that bounds your problem.

The 3rd gen kits come set for 22 psi. A 0-30 will be just fine.
