:-laf:-laf:-laf I dont eat them things NO WAY. but had a GREAT DAY BRANDIN CASTRATING IMUNAZATION and just being with the family. We did around 100 and it starts again early in the AM for about the same amount. My Pard from CA said he dont think he wants such a big breakfast tomorrow the first one didn't taste so good the second time around :-laf IT DONT GET MUCH BETTER THAN THIS.

:-laf:-laf Thats ok G Man Im so tired that it hurts to laugh. I think that it was because of the running on the horse. Mules are not fast enough to catch a steer and ya use a bunch of different muscles holding on to a Ferrari rather than a VW. I was on BIL's horse I think HE TOOK LOOK at what was happening to the steers and figured he'd better give his all. Just a kick and 3 strides and the horse was close to full speed HANG ON!!! A couple of beers and a BIG MOTRIN and bed time for me. :{ This cowboy crap makes ya tired

My dad worked cattle most of his life, and still does at age 83. Several years ago, he had the help of an older real cowboy that liked his booze during the work day. When castrating, Van would take the calf fries and lay them on top of the well casing that was used to heat the branding irons. Occasionally, he would pick one up and eat it down to the cold part and then put it back on to cook some more. Dad had a dedicated freezer to store the "bonus" of his work and usually had it about half full. Then it was time for a "calf fry" party!

My Dad was raised on a farm in North Platte NB during the depression. He use to say they didn't have much but always had something to EAT!!! They were German and DIDNT WASTE ANYTHING!!!!! some of the things that they ate were just to much for me. They called them fries also PIG/TURKEY/CALF/ just about anything that had FRIES :-laf

I once barfed out about a half dozen eggs after I found out that they were cooked with brains!!! It tasted great, but I was informed later exactly what I just ate... Just the mere thought that my food may have been thinking of me was the breaking point!

I only stick to heart, liver, and IDENTIFIABLE muscle meat now just because. :-laf

Ive ate balls before had to form an opinion so not to be one sided. But its not something that I would order as an appetizer like the wife and her Dad when we go to dinner. But then when we went to France other family members said NO WAY to escargot I like them in the south of France. Oysters are another disgusting looking like something you would CACK UP from a bad chest cold

I guess ,I dont see the fascination with them but thats not as weird as some other stuff we have seen in Europe and Asia . South East Asia eats just about anything.
