So who's running SuperMentals?

I'm still on the fence about where I'm gonna go eventually injector-wise. Leaning towards the SM's just so I don't have to sell another used set of injectors down the road when I decide that I should have stepped up to start with . Keith from DD answered quite a few of my questions back a while ago when I PM'd him-thanks again Keith. I'd like to get some input from those of you who have run them. Pretty sure I read that Stefan Kondolay has a set that gets swapped in and out-maybe read that MikeR had tried them in his truck? Anyone else? Curious about driveability etc. -and mildly curious about the smoke-we are at altitude here (3500') so I know that's gonna increase the smoke output... .



I know that there's a ton of upgrades you've gotta have to run them-I am in the process of addressing them now (fuel system upgrades, air system upgrades, turbo, clutch). I'm also committed to running DD-they were the originators of the extrude-honed injectors, I haven't heard anyone complain about their stuff and they're more accessible to me up here as well.

Fred Swanson has run them, Heberam has a set, MikeR, Stefan from DTT - that's all I can think of off the top of my head.

I drove Fred Swanson's truck with the supermentals back in December. They amazed me.



When I get a 24 valve, that is definately what I'll run.

I've ran the mentals for over 1 year and these are my impressions:



The first time I put them in I notice that it had a lumpy idle which made a big smile come to my face, nothing quite sounds like lumpy diesel. I also expected tons of smoke and high EGT's but neither were what I expected.



The acceleration of these injectors are the smoothest of any injector and I've rode in. 40+lbs of boost right away with tires blazing. :--)



If you get these injectors all you will be able to do is all the way home.

You're singin' my song Stefan . I can live with the rumpy-rumpy idle-imagine I'll leave it idling on the E-brake most of the time anyways to keep combustion temps up... . and I'm thinking I can run my shiny new DragCOMP on 1x1 most of the time to keep the smoke and mega-torque down low to a minimum. Pretty sure at some point in the future I'll be purchasing the UFM programming chip from DD to run a comparison between the 2.....
