This is my definition of a bad day at work.....

1st, my parts runner gets in a head on just up the road with another pick-up. Nobody hurt, Thank God but pick-up is totalled as the frame is bent.

Pictures below...

2nd, right about the time the truck gets wrecked we have a Rocket Scientist Driver that attempts to drop a Haz Mat Style tanker full of gasoline down back in the mud, he did stop quick enough to keep the tank sitting on the rear frame rails of the truck when he unhooked so it didn't nose into the ground. But after a few minutes it started to tip over.

We had two wrecker calls in about 5 minutes, one to fetch my pick-up and one to get control of the tanker.

I asked for a volume discount... ... ... . :{

No pictures of that episode, I was otherwise entertained.

3rd, One of the night shift techs backs our big tandem axle delivery truck out of the shop and continues backing right into a brand spanking new Nissan Altima hanging off the back of a disabled car carrier dropped in the yard by (you guessed it) yet another wrecker!!!!... ...

Pictures below.....

I am dreading today!!!!!

It all could have been much worse, I realize and am thankful for that but was still a challenge... ... ... ... .

Just a couple more shots for effect..... :-laf

First shot is the victim, second shot is the aggressor... ... ... ... . Good thing he stopped whan he did or it would have hit the Pathfinder that is above the Altima.

The liftgate platform etc. on the back of the truck sticks out quite a ways and is what damaged the car.

Mike.

Yeah, we are all drawing straws to see who gets to call the insurance agent today, I'm out as I called about the pick-up yesterday... ... :-laf

Someone else can do it today!!!!!!!!!

Ed, no relation that I know of. Hopefully he (Mickey) was smart enough to pursue a different career path than I did. :-laf

St. Patty's Day luck ??

I was going to drive my truck to work today (it just got a new Source Automotive 48RE... ), but after reading this post I'm gonna leave it at home...

It will be one of those days to reflect back on and laugh about later.

When a company has employees and lots of activities going on days like that are inevitable once in awhile.

I often thought about what it was like to be ship's commanding officer. All those crewmembers and all those potentially dangerous activities going on around the clock. "Stuff" will happen, they say.

Something I did not realize and you may find interesting...

The driver of the car carrier told us this morning that between the breakdown and damage to the car he will lose about $150. 00 pay on this trip.

Even though neither event was his fault he still gets whacked.

The cars have to arrive on time and in perfect condition in order for him to receive full pay no matter what the circumstances.

Isn't that something!!!!!

He got caught up in the Freightliner Of Maine Black Cloud as well. :D

Spreading the misery in Maine. .

Mike. :)

Yep, it sounds like another day at the truck shop... been there and done that for nearly 30 years.

Speaking of "dollying down" in the mud, at our dealership we built a very large thick concrete pad across the parking area just for parking loaded trailers. You would be suprprised at the "rocket scientist" drivers who couldn't park their trailers on that pad after they were told and shown where to dolly down. The concrete pad is a different color than asphalt!#@$%!

I don't miss that part...

Good to hear that Mr. Murphy has moved to another part of the country. Sorry to hear he stopped on your door step. I'd stay home and pull the covers over me head.

When rains IT JUST POURS, some times.
