Now that is a thought, Barry. Rubber mounted? I bet it will be quiter there. I would definitely appreciate a picture. Someday soon I need to figure the picture thing out.

I had I thought in church today--ok, my mind drifted to other gods (the Cummins god) and I repent--that the Kelderman system really ties both bags to both springs with the bar underneath that connects both swing arms. The springs are independently mounted to the frame but now would be mounted to each other, in essence. The "give" factor would be the bags. If one wheel hits a hole and the spring drives the bag up, wouldn't the other spring also "go up" as the other bag collapses? Have you noticed the whole rearend going "up" when one side hits a bump? George

Well, no picture from Barry. But I checked the site and it looked like a lot of Seattle wet road would cruise right through the hole above the skidplate.

Went to the shop today where Kelderman is being installed along with my Rancho's and Gear Vendor. I am putting the air controls down by the base of the seat by the door. I jumped up and down on the rear bumper and the truck had a lot of nice "play" that was surely not there before the Kelderman. The Rancho's came without some fittings but are being overnighted so I can get the truck tomorrow and head home to Mount Vernon WA from Great Falls MT with a layover in Couer d'Lene ID (sp). I expect to cruise at 80 mph and 1700rpm (with an EZ).

Next on the list: a whole bunch of things. BTW, I ran up to Conrad MT today to visit the Intercontinental Truck Body plant to check out their nice aluminum decks. They have a HD and light duty (which is real stout) and a lot of 5vers put them on with their frame mounted hitches. I saw 2 going on when I was there. Later dudes, George

George – I’m looking forward to read your ride impressions of the system. Not sure what kind of CTD you have (hint hint), but was wondering if the Kelderman raises the rear truck height. I know the Rancho’s helped our ride. What kind of transmission are you mating the Gear Vendor to?

RadDodge--My signature used to be there. Have to figger out how to put it back--with bombs. Love the ride. Like my 93 IFS Chev 2500. CTD is HO 6spd 2500, 2002 Mexican with graphite latex paint:mad: Edge EZ (for now--will work with Diesel Performance's specialty box and TurboMaster soon for a nice 420hp and 24mpg--really!), Kelderman and GV with Toyo 295's, 3. 54's producing 71mph at 1500rpm. It is so cool. I love my truck. Combo bootlegger/towtruck.

The Ride?

George,

Like to hear your impressions of the Kelderman air-ride. After following all the TDR threads, I went ahead and ordered the 2-bag system for my 99' 2500.

I'm hoping it will help cure the "bouncing/bucking" that I get when towing my 27' trailer on the older concrete freeways @ 55-60 mph.

I pulled my empty 20 foot flatbed which has an irritating empty jerkiness that is not there with my hoe on it. The jerkiness was still there with the new Kelderman. If the trauma is "up and down" then the Kelderman should help but not jerking. I had to clamp my overloads to the mainsprings and remove the rear overload stop because the truck has more play now. The clamped spring set is like a swing arm on a big rig. It still has all capacity but I wonder if it would be even a nicer ride if I unclamped the overload. It could punch the box floor if the air failed, however so maybe I just won't do anything. I like the ride. Way more tolerable than stock and empty. George
