I bought three or four, can't even remember for sure. They've been sitting new in the boxes in my garage ever since. Lets just say my plans for installing on my 5er and retiring sorta went to heck. When I bought they were the cats meow. I'm trying to figure how to rig a couple on my road pickup, if I can't I'll probably sell um. Got one heck of a Honda 4,500 watt RV generator very near new. Want more info Email me.

Cheers,

Steve J

My understanding is that a number of European countries have raised the tax credits for solar PV which is substantially increasing demand there. So, the PV manufacturers are all diverting the majority of their supply to Europe to meet the demand which means a shortage of panels in the USA thereby increasing prices here. There's only a limited number of PV manufacturers worldwide so the supply and price situation in the USA is supposed to stay this way for some time.

Got a small one from the local Northern store on sale for $15. Probably only good for trickle charging a battery - that's what I use it for. I think they have an online "store" too.

This is what i use

I have 3 panels and these are plug-n-play... . I use a digital controller inside the RV to monitor it. I have 200 watts that in Salt LAke City area makes about 8 amps to the battery.

The panels are screwed to the roof by clips that keep them off the roof a bit for water drainage. Aluminum frame, tempered glass, simple 2 wire hookups. .

Go to Quartzite, Yuma, Tucson etc. next winter. There are solar venders at almost all the Flea Markets etc. That way you can get “hands on” knowledge.

Avoid affordable-solar.com. They didn't have in stock what they claimed. They took my money for months and repeatedly tried to sell me another brand for more $-last offer $71 more than I could buy the same thing locally- and then didn't credit my cardwhen I asked. Looking at their web site they are now offering the same now available panel for $139 more than I supposedly bought it for in April.
