I've owned all 4 Gens. This 2016 is the best one yet.

Maybe the problem wasn't the truck but an owner that didn't chose the proper truck to meet his expectations.

The truck most likely had the same seats as the one he test drove right?
Want to talk about uncomfortable seats? Let's talk about the ones in my 05.

The op claimed to have a fleet of 17 rams,no response when I asked for a pic.I think maybe he likes to stir up the group.

I have no idea what the other two are having with DEF issues, but I have had my share. Its going in monday again for a DEF issue. Was told I will get the new SCR recall done, and a flash, so hopefully every time I fill the DEF or even just add some I won't get the " Service DEF system see dealer ", and then go into the mile countdown.

I am surprised you went this long without the scr an update

I have been over this with you before, no I did not have the SCR update. Was told by dealer that I had to have an active CEL to get the update, apparently thats not true. If not mistaken I asked you what I should do, but got no reply. So not sure what your surprise should be

Filled up my DEF ,and as usual got my fourth service DEF message, and the countdown this was two days ago, called dealer, was told about the recall, and flash. Never have got any notice of the recall, but never the less it goes in tomorrow, and hopefully my DEF issues will stop every time I fill the DEF.

I would be willing to bet that it takes care of the issues. What brand of DEF are you using?

Every brand def has to meet spec,I have never found that to be an issue. Some dealers will tell you that to avoid finding the real issue

I've seen quality issues with DEF. there was a strong thread on here about it too. I think there is info on Peak's site about DEF quality.
We were issued refractometers to use to check quality, and it works, but it won't detect fuel contamination really well. If I had one of these SCR trucks, I'd have a refractometer on board.

I have used Peak since new. No issues the first 20K, now have had three in the last 8K. The last one the code was a P207F bad def. They checked it ,and it was okay. I suspect this time it will be the same code.

The last jug I put in last thursday was two months old on the date code.Pretty sure I have never used any DEF that was older then a couple months old. Certainly none in this last year I have been having DEF issues.

DEF can certainly go bad over time, but I agree on meeting specs. Hard to tell what my problems are the only code as said has been P207F, which is bad DEF ,but yet it wasn't.

Its definitely related to when I add DEF. This last time I ran it down to the red mark, and then added just 2.5 gallons. Listening to SOME on this FORUM, don't fill it ,and you won't get the DEF warning. Well we can sure throw that theory out the door. Will see what tomorrow brings at the dealer.

This issue really needs to be corrected, its not very heart warming going down a freeway with a 38' fifth wheel in tow, while I'm getting the mile countdown.

I can't see where we could get bad DEF out of a jug, unless its been stored improperly, tampered with, or aged out. Could it still go bad at 2 months old if stored improperly ??? They have a date code on them.

As far as I know to date, my issues are not DEF quality.

I think you'll be fine once you get the new flash and SCR. I got the bad DEF code as well the first time my SCR went bad. Not an issue since the recall to replace with the new units that don't have the ammonia sensor.

I fill my DEF tank up all the way most of the time and don't have issues. Just don't get DEF at the Pump. You have no idea how old or new it is. Or how much it was diluted with out of date DEF when they filled the holding tank.

I find this funny. My 05 1500 Laramie has the best seats ever (well perhaps my Audi '00 A6 was better). I really like my trucks seats and worry my next might not be as good.

Thanks hopefully my problems with DEF will go away.

I feel the same way, but some swear up ,and down its the only way to go out of a pump. I will stick to the jugs as much as I use.

P207F in Ford land (what I work with) means, if you're DEF is indeed good, new sensors and a flash. This is similar to experience here on the TDR. Clearly it's teething and fine tuning the system.
