Tazer testing...

I hope that the soldier gets off lightly. The intensity of life and death situation that he was in, ----his actions may have been justified. However, it was to bad it happened with cameras and reporters there. :(

If I were in war watching my buddies being killed, and I was just shot in the face the day before and I came in on the Muslim radicals who had been shooting at me, and found one faking his death, I might have put one in him too. After all he could have been armed just faking and waiting for the chance to finish me off.

What was he suppose to do, wait and see if he was going to get shot at again? Gee whiz, this is war and our enemy, let the guy go.

Just club the fool that let this info out to the press. Why would anyone want this out.

Why is it called war?

I agree

The news correspondent that filmed this event and hurried to the press, I think he would have to grow eyes in the back of his head. If I were a Marine, I would be thinking that that guy would be "accidently" get caught in a crossfire situation somehow.

Its funny how the press will make a huge deal out of it. Letting them go ya know they will come right back and kill one of are guys.

But when those terrostist *******s kidnap inocent people then wack there heads off. Its just and other death end of story.

In my opion the press is more of a threat. The press is the enemies best ammunition.

I was furrious when I saw that story. This is war shoot first & ask questions later. I don't think the press should be aloud to tag along on missions. The bleeding liberals want us to patch up the insurgents so they can live to fight another day.

Sounds like typical media bias to me. Small bad things make the news while good things are ignored. I have only seen one mainstream story about the butt kickin we handed those boys in faluga. I have heard that injured/ faking "insergents" have been wire with explosives only to be set off when our boys with kind hearts come to help them. I'd shoot first and ask questions later. Better one of them then us. These guys are hiding in mosques because they know the reaction that the locals and western media will have when they are attacked. Like Bush said a while back "If your not with us, your against us". This thread should be moved to the politics forum before it gets out of hand.

I salute him for for being in harm's way and protecting America.

He did what he was trained to do.

I respect him for it.

End of story.

Personally, I agree with the way the soldier acted. I also believe that he could have acted differently and still remained safe. Yes, he saw the insurgent move, and that would alarm me. I would dare say that he just reacted to the movement, however, he the crew didn't appear to judge whether this guy may have had a bomb attached to his person or the other "dead" guy on the floor, which, when the shot was fired, could have detonated the device, if there was one, and killed all of them. I guess I am just thinking of what could have happened, not what did, which was that they were the enemy, and they were in the wrong place at the wrong time and on the wrong side!

Further, I agree with the Lt. Col. above - bomb them back to the stone age and turn the place into a glass bowl!

please email your local news stations and let them know that they are being "unpatriotic" by releasing these speculative, negative based reports. they are quick to judge but have no facts of the actual incident. they need to know we are p====d off and that we support our troups. with all the IED's laying under dead bodies that have taken the lives of our boys, we have no choice but to treat all insurgents as hostile and dangerous. NO EXCEPTIONS!!!

Amen brother!

I've never "been there" but I dont think anyone should try to fake a Marine, or any other US servece member for that matter.

He played chicken and lost. It's a freakin war for peats sake, what do you expect?

Give this Marine a metal.

Called my Congressman

Called my Congressman and voiced my opinion that he should be supported. The aid on the phone said they had received quite a few calls related to this. After posting this, I'm contacting the T. V. Stations and giving them a piece of my mind, (wouldn't hurt if others did the same. )

The aid added some info that I hadn't heard from the communist media, and that was several days ago one of this soldiers buddy's had been killed by a wounded insurgent that blew himself up as they approached.

This leftist bonehead reporter should be "Hung out to Dry". If he is on the side of the Muslims, let him go over to them and report the war from their side. I'll bet it wouldn't be to much longer that he would have his "head". What a jerk.

Considering the fact that, if I remember correctly, the day before one of his buddies died due to a booby trapped body I would say that he ABSOLUTELY did the right thing. The soldier himself was wounded very recently. In their situation it is definitely better to be tried by twelve than carried by six.

Why, in Gods good name do we have idiotic reporters with cameras going along with our Marines slowing them down and then, to top it off, attempt to incriminate them??????????????????????????????????? Ridiculous!!!

I have to say, that I would probably have done the same thing. I know for a fact that the insurgents use our ROE(rules of engagement) against us. They shoot at our backs, and when we turn around, they drop their weapons and walk away like nothing ever happened. They know that if they are unarmed, we "can't" shoot at them. I can't go into much detail about how we handle this, but I will say that it depends on who is around.

I cant believe this is an "issue"

If I was a cameraman and something like this happened, I dont think I'd feel very safe in Iraq anymore. Oo.

He did nothing wrong. For those of you who question this act - put yourself in his situation. He did the right thing. BUT... due to Political correctness, he'll be put through the ringer until they figure he did nothing wrong. May get charged and go to an article 32 investigation before dropping charges.

Eric

PS Didnt John Heinz Kerry get a silver star for shooting an unarmed VC?

The enemy knows the universal surrender position to be hands up, palms open. Too bad he remembered this AFTER being shot.

I don't like the idea of having imbedded reporters. Would make it hard to do what is neccessary, when you have a camera/reporter watching you.

This is war, he had a right to do what he did, to protect himself, from someone who may be faking being dead.
