I had a similar experience 2 months ago when one of our county deputies was shot to death in the line of duty just down the road from my house. I had the honor of driving one of our engines in the rear of the processional that included 500+ squad cars and 1000 officers from all over our state and surrounding states. The people who lined the route were great. It was very moving.
