I could be way off on this... but it seems to me that I've seen some of the big 3500 with utility beds and they sit really high. It looks as though they have a solid front axle, but no differential. Is this correct? If so, would this be a possible solution to raising the front end of my 2wd 2500 without the hassle of a full 4wd conversion?

Joe's right. they use the same everything as a 4wd, except just an I-beam axle. We have 3 of those trucks here at work. 2 are 95's and 1 is a 96. Funny thing is, one of them has a actual 4wd front axle, but no transfer case, and it is designated a 2wd. Another has a transfercase but no front axle.  Just another weird quirt from chrysler I guess.

Around the 1997 time frame, Dodge offered the NV021 aluminum cased PTO unit for automatics because the 5 speeds had PTO covers on them already.
