I installed one of these on my truck 2 or 3 weeks ago, but unfortunately the clunking thru my steering wheel. Had a buddy start the truck and work the wheel back and forth while I watched the front end. I noticed over 1/8" of movement (deflection) in the track bar bushings, which I'm pretty sure are polyurethane. I've rechecked the mounting hardware, and everything is still tight, torqued to their specs. Is this normal? I didn't think a poly bushing would move that much.

I had a similar problem when I switched to the 3rd gen setup (non adjustable at the time). Turned out to be the pass side mounting point was not quite tight enough. It looked ok and if I recall my torque was at the specified amount but it took a bit more. I found it by having someone turn the wheel while I traced the sound to its location.

see, thats my problem, i can't hear the "clunk", especially outside the truck. I just can feel it thru the wheel which is starting to make me wonder if its my steering shaft or the lower columb bushing. I emailed Russell at Solid Steel, and he said that they use Energy Suspension Hyperflex bushings which are polyurethane, but are designed to have some give in them. he said 1/8" is probably normal, but I think I'm getting a little more than that... . its kinda tought to get a tape measure in there to get an actual measurement. He even offered to send me another set of bushings if I wanted. Its refreshing to find someone that actually stands behind their product these days:)

I could hear mine inside the truck but not really outside with the engine running( couldnt hardly turn the wheels enough with out the power assist). However I put my hands on various pieces and could definitely feel it as well and followed it that way. Might be worth a try.
