Hey everyone, after having my truck now since December I have put just over 20,000 KM on it. My truck always had the gear hunting from 1st to second and recently got bad and was taking til 2100-2200 rpm for it to shift. After doing some research I covered and rerouted the wire by the alternator, checked fluid levels and did some more research. I discovered a problem that exists with the governer pressure solenoid and transducer in the transmission that fail. This looked like a simple task so I tackled it. It was a simple task of dropping the pan, filter and removing a few bolts and 2 wiring harness for the solenoids and throwing in a new gasket. It seemed to fix my problem. I upgraded the solenoid to a Borg Warner version which is double the size of the old one or around that size. It also is more heavy duty and applies 15% more pressure. The test drive of the truck was beautiful, coming up slight grades where my truck used to hunt and pop into first coming into driveways etc. it stays locked up and is like new now. The procedure took me a couple hours because of scraping old cork gasket off and just taking my time. I could do it again in an hour if I had to I bet though. It's very simple. Hope this helps anybody with the shifting problems. I would recommend the Borg Warner upgrade to anybody doing this procedure.
