some AirDog questions...

I did a search on here and read all about AirDogs. I still have a few questions.



1. Why don't they have a website and how do you get in touch with them? Links provided on dealer sites for the company don't work. Is that a bad sign? Are they out of business?



2. In one thread somebody asked if an airdog had been tried on an 05. A fella named Rodbolt said no but he figured it should work. The guy who asked had a follow up qestion that was not answered. And that is my same question ... has anybody put an AirDog on an 05? Or better yet, does somebody have a link to an installation manual for an AirDog on an 05 Dodge CTD? That would be great.



What I am wondering about is what happens with the pump in the tank and if you need to drop the tank to do the installation.

I don't know if anyone has installed one on an 05. Allot of the websites don't work because the company was recently sold and under new ownership. Here is a link that works and has a link to the online installation manual:

No the tank does not have to be dropped for installation.



EDIT: I left my stock fuel lines in place (capped) along with my lift pump just incase the airdog ever fails I have a backup system in place that can be easily reconnected to get me back on the road and out of the middle of nowhere.

Thanks! Exactly what I was looking for.



To install what you do is connect the feed line to the AirDog to the suction fitting on the tank. You connect the output line from the AirDog to the engine. Basically you take the stock lift pump and lines out of the loop. That is all well and good if you have a lift pump but what happens if you have a pump already in the tank? Is the AirDog going to still be able to suck fuel up with that other pump in there? Do you disable the pump in the tank and just leave it? Remove it altogether? Or leave it running? I have no idea.



Second is the connection to the AirDog relay. It looks like you take the electrical feed plug to the stock lift pump and plug it straight into the relay. Nice and neat but on the 05, that plug is not going to be up front there.



I called the company and asked these two questions. Did not get a satisfactory answer yet but the guy is checking. There were way too many "I thinks" and "I'm not sures" during that phone call. Hopefully they get back with some "for sures" then I'll get me one. It seems to me that the wiring harness is going to be different at minimum and a word or two in the instructions about what to do with the in-tank pump.



Related question: what are the two electrical connections that go to the fuel filter assembly? One is closer to the top and runs into a black box about 1" square and the other goes into the bottom.
