Some console ideas....

While we are on the subject of mounting stuff, here are two ideas I tried out that worked pretty well, if I do say so myself



Brake controller goes on outside of ashtray. Open tray to get good view of readout; close tray to put it out of the way. Still works as ashtray (or whatever).



Lower cubby is just right to hide lighter 4-plug expander; cut wires, route up over behind right side of ashtray door and into cubby, re-splice, and you have a hidden plug expander with some cubby room still behind it, and, yes, there's (just) enough room to plug in!

Nicely done! Is that a Jordon brake controler? If so, how visible is the cable that attaches to the brake pedal?

Hey, Scotty... that is a Jordan, but it is a Quantum 2001 fully electronic unit so there is no mechanical link to the pedal. Works just fine for me on both trailers, two and four wheel brakes.

One note on the contollers with the mechanical tie to the pedal, they do ensure that the trailer brakes absolutely come on line ahead of the truck, but you can "tweak" your brake light switch so that the first slight pressure cuts on the lights and then you basically have the same effect, the trailer is coming on-line before you get the pedal down far enough to engage the vehicle brakes. The Quantum does an adjustable "ramp-up" of the trailer brakes which seems to do just fine; grossed 21,000 last year with the '01 puling a cargo trailer with 4-wheel brakes and never had any brake concerns.

If you use the adjustable pedals, the Jordan wouldn't work, right?

It will but you need to make an L bracket that reaches around the top of the pedal so the cable stay moves with the pedals.
