Those are some great pics of the fire/area. But on the other hand, a tragedy for such a beautiful area.

Actually, not quite the tragedy you may think it is.



Fire is beneficial for boreal forests, and some trees actually need fire to reproduce. Fire also clears the way for other plants by "cleaning-up" the forest floor.



It's hard to look at, but the BWCAW will be better off for it.
