I've added the Autometer 2 Gauge Pod and accompanied Autometer Sport Comp Boost Gauge and Pyrometer kit. I'd post pics but its too dark out. Your local autoparts store should have some matching interior paint to spray the Gauge pod as they only come in black. The details on Pyrometer installs are covered throught the 1st Gen forums, just need to do a quick search on that. I like the Autometer guages, but there are a few others available, may want to check the reader pics area or some of the vendors for other choices.

Sorry forgot about the exhaust question. When I originally got mine the factory muffler was shot and the tailpipe was all bent up, off to the muffler shop I went. Probably not the cheapest method, but I had the local muffler shop build my exhaust from the downpipe back, they do a lot of diesel exhaust upgrades and have a mandrel pipe bender so there aren't the kinks that a regular exhaust pipe bender has. I added a nice walker 4in muffler and it sounds pretty good. A bit louder than stock, but not the drone that a gasser might have. If I was to do it again I probably wouldn't have put a new muffler on, straight-pipe sounds pretty good.

Welcome to the TDR.

welcome kent,

i'm fairly new to this forum, too. i recently installed a new exhaust system from the down pipe back. i went for a 3. 5" system without a muffler, as i like the exhaust note.

one thing i learned from that experience (and would definitely recommend) is to spend the time and a little extra money to find a place that deals in commercial big rig/industrial/marine exhaust systems. not only are they used to dealing in big tubing, they will also typically use a band-style of clamping.

the standard automotive exhaust u-clamps are cheap, but crush the tubing a little, end up rusty, and make replacing a section of pipe (when necessary) more difficult. the industrial band clamps (not sure of the trade name) don't crush the tubing at all, are less likely to rust, and make taking the system apart (when necessary) a breeze.

just my 2 cents...

Exhaust...

:D I had my custom made by a shop that does firetrucks and school busses. Welded at downpipe, muffler, and hangers. The system is tight, a little loud with straight-through 14" muffler, mendrel bent, turbo whistles nice with BHAF. Have fun... Patrick.

WOW!

I'm trying to get all cought up with the number of newbies here on the site. This is great!!! I can't keep the names straight though.

I like those too, Roy. I also noticed them at NAPA the last time I was there. They had them up to 4", and it was hanging on the rack, so I guess it was a regular shelf item.
