I installed a 110 gal. aux. fuel tank in my brother inlaws Ford this past weekend. The tank was 60" wide, same as mine but would not set flat in the bed at the front because the Ford bed has a rounded section below the front stake pockets that extends into the bottom of the bed. Had to build a 1 1/4" platform to set the tank on to clear the section. The Ford bed sets directly on the frame(on rubber mounts of course). The Dodge bed sets on gussets rivited to the frame and extending outward. I suspect that was the reason for the rounded section in the bed, to stiffen it up. bg

Point

To let you know that an object 60" wide won't lie flat on the floor in a 64"+ wide bed of a 2000 model Ford F-250 pickup. bg

Look at the dimensions of the model 654 toolbox for Fords. Its 7" narrower than the ones for "full size" pickups.
