If i was going to go with straight stacks I would have gone with the straight cut, but they didn't have any when I boughtg mine, they would be a little more old school, hell I probably even would have put rain caps on em to be different too... . LOL

I'm gonna cut the miters off my stacks and put the rain caps on them. There is NO WAY I'm gonna spend $80/piece to get the "chicken lips" for the miter tops. Don't want to deal with coffee cans either. Getting tired of washing the soot off the truck. I do have a drain hole in the bottom elbow, but hasn't eliminated it. It isn't a problem as long as the wind isn't blowing from the back to the front.

Diamond plate in particular. Sheesh. That is a lot of work. Hard on the buffing wheels, too. Took me an hour and a half to do the battery box, to get at all of the oxidation the first time. Lots easier the last time I polished.

No sound clips, it is alot quieter then I thought it would be, cats are usually the quieter of motors, till ya wind it up to about 1800 rpm with 40,000lbs behind ya then they bark, turbo wistle is awesome betwen shifts, jake is really loud.

I've noticed that on a few trucks too. Was standing next to a W-9 a couple of mothes ago. Had a C-15 (single turbo) in it, IIRC. It was running and sounded like it had a stock muffler on it. NO muffler. Straight stacks. :{



The C-12 that is in the T-8 that I run, has an underslung muffler. I think it will be plenty loud without a muffler. It talks to you as it is, with the windows down. Jake sounds awesome. Oo. Sounds wimpy on our stacked Mack, in comparison. :{
