Somebody has a custom 250 hp smarty tune?

I just got my new issue of diesel power... there is a guy in there wanting to be in the power challenge. He lists a bunch of mods one of which is a custom tune on his smarty to the sound of 250 hp. Granted that this is a CR truck but that opens the door in my eyes that there is room to grow as far as fueling is concerned in all the smarty programs. I want to get my hands on a custom tune for my truck like a competition program like many of us second gen guys have been talking about. How did he get a custom program... . I want one too!!!#@$%! Where and how can I get one?

Mr. Thomas has a VP44. I won't question what a smarty can do on a CR, just don't think your will get over 65HP gain out of a smarty on a stock VP44 equipped truck.

I know that it was a CR truck but I am trying to find out if Marco can/will make a competition program or be able to enable some of the features discussed in the second gen wants and wishes thread. Bob, take a look at it and tell us what you think is possible.

You won't get more than 65HP out of a downloader on a vp44 equipped truck, is what I was saying.

I was hoping to get a program that would lower my idle to like 650 or 700. As well as maybe fuel earlier, user adjustable high idle etc (since i have ecm controlled cruise) and some other things that were suggested in the wants and wishes thread. I want to see what is actually possible for adjustment on a 2nd gen. The only reason I said a competition program is to see if I could get on that fuels sooner with a different fueling curve (broader power band), not necessarily for more power. Plus the extra features I mentioned here and in that thread. I want to see what is really possible and what can be altered for my preference.

sweet good deal. i installed one over the weekend in another customers truck and ill tell you what that has got to be the best feeling clutch ever. he didnt have the upgraded hyraulics yet either. i look forward to hearing your thoughts on it.



i will be putting one in my truck soon also. hopefully i can get this 250HP smarty program also. if bob or marco could chime in on how to get this program, that would be great.

That truck is mine. It is the a program you guys can't download off there website. There isn't anything special about it as it is the very first tune Marco came up with. There isn't to many of them around. Here is a pic of the truck to verify it is the sameone as the April issue on page 14. It isn't the 2 that are in the mag but it is a side shot.

thanks bob how soon are we talking on future releases? i am getting antsy for some more power and i would like to have done by the smarty.

I have a feeling it will be real soon. I am looking for a little more myself. I went with larger charger, dual pumps, modded rail, and soon to be larger injectors for a dyno day at the end of the month.
