:EDIT: O. K Not Lovely

I would say we got about 8-10. Almost got the big old dodge stuck. Then I threw it into 4X4. lol. I am planing on going riding on my 4 wheeler in the lovely new powder. Hope every one has a safe trip if they decide to venture out.

On a trip to the great NW a few years ago, found myself wandering about the town of Winthrop, WA on the east side of the N. Cascades. Asked the local shop owner, how much snow do you get up here? Shop owner replies, "Oh, usually about 5 feet or so - - - - overnight:--)

We had a family rebellion up at Lake Tahoe a couple of years ago. Local resident says that they turn into their street and then count the slots cut through the snow to find their house - - because you can't see the house from the street in front.

I thinks we is wimps about this winter stuff sometimes. Unless you live in S. Cal, Phoenix or Florida, you should just learn to deal with it!!!

The guy was BSing you about Winthrop, it's on the dry side of the Cascades and rarely gets five feet for the entire season.

Record 24 hour snowfall goes to Lander, Wyoming, 70. 4" in '58

For the season record the 4200 ft level of Mt Baker in the Washington Cascades had 1,140 inches (95ft) in '99

Illflem - - Ohhhh, yeah, I guess that would be correct. I was thinking (ouch, that hurts) that as the moisture rises from the Pacific that it would turn to snow coming over the top of the mt. range. But most of that snow would fall on the WEST side of the range, not the east. Wellll, he seemed sincere. Ya, and we could pan for gold too . . . . for 5 bucks apiece. Hmmm, wonder who got the better of that deal.

It helps to be Dutch, but not Mutch.

Andy

Andy, the only reason I knew about Winthrop is because I used to live just down the road from there.

Winthrop does hold the record for the coldest temp ever recorded in WA state, -48°

I would love to get some real snow around here!

I got two calls today from people making sure I was plowing tonight. We got about one inch today.

I will be heading north on Wed.

There is about a foot and a half of snow up there.

I have to plow two and a half miles to get to the cabin, should be fun!!!

I spent the better part of today plowing with a gasser Ramcharger then most of the evening moving the big piles into one huge pile with a 1957 Trojan front end loader, also a gasser with NO brakes. Gotta remember to drag the bucket and pop it into nuetral to stop, what fun!

If we could get a snowstorm like that here everyone would consider us lucky. I bet we haven't gotten a total of 5" all year. They got 10-15 in the cities, but besides that it hasn't snowed all year. I'd love to see 2' or more piled outside the door when I get up one morning.

Corey

I left at midnight to plow the inch that we were supposed to get.

Fueled the truck and it is snowing like he!!. Now they say 3 to 4 so its back to bed for a couple of hours. :)
