I have a plate I bought from e-bay:rolleyes: Supposed to be a #8. I has no numbers stamped on it but looks like the first pic in this post. I'm sure its homemade cause it has screws down through the top.

What and where are the "main fuel" and "defuel" slopes on the plate? Does the rack travel completely up the plate with RPM or throttle position? I know just enough to slide it back and forth and make myself dangerous:D

you need to adjust the lever to hit close to the bottom. It will slide up the plate. There will be a defuel hump at the bottem to give time for spool up. Then it will start to fuel hard with maybe a defuel hump at the top for shifting.

The pic of the banks plate is a good example. The toe at the bottom is a defuel hump for pre spool. You would put the lever 3/4 up it and then could adjust the lever to set rpm fuel delay out out of the hole. Then as rpm rises it slide up over the toe and forward. Tthis is the main fuel curve. In the middle is a little toe to defuel around shift time. On that plate you would not want to rise past the little toe.

So is that the reason for the difference in plate listings for autos and standard trannys? I was thinking it was just the different pump ratings for the weak a$$ auto transmission. Since standard transmission guys control their own shift points.

you still defuel a little as rpm rises becouse of a loss on equal air. Mine however does not. after the main curve I go flat. High rpm will resallt in a little more smoke. Timeing also becouse a factor at high rpm. a p7100 does not advance. So good timeing down low will give you late timeing up high. Thus less burn time.

If your system will squirk enough fuel, it will pull past the normal defueling point that's in the plate. Good air mods will prevent smoke. I liked the plate I had but wanted more top end so I just worked over the high rpm fuel stop. Craig
