I ran a snow performance stage 2 kit on my 1st gen. It worked great with 285,000 on the clock. I talked to the owner of snow performace, he explained everything to me in great detail about the kit and what it does. Windshield washer fluid works just fine. I mixed my coolant with the real stuff 50% methanol 50% water it worked better than the washer fluid, but more expensive. He wanted to know everthing about my truck. After telling him about it he told me exactly what kit and what pressure to run it at. It was on time! Water/meth injection should not be used for towing what so ever. Severe detonation can occur if it is not activated at WOT. He told me to run my hobbs switch at 20 psi. so thats exactly what I did. Low egts. and a real kick in the ***, 3-4 tenths off of the quarter mile et. Want even a little more, dump ice water in it and let it eat!!

BAD FOR TOWING?



I hope not. I have a stage II system sitting on my bench waiting to be installed, and I bought it JUST for towing. I tow really heavy, and with either the TST or Smarty, I have cancel my cruise control up any kind of real grade, due to excessive EGTs. I am hoping that with water/meth, I can let the motor work and pull the hill with the cruise control. I don't run that fast (67 mph), but I have to slow down to about 55 going up even modest hills with the Smarty on 3, or TST on 2. Either way, too much heat. I'll install this Friday and post results next Monday. I've got a 500 mile run pulling about 22,000 pounds with some pretty fair hills. I should know soon enough how it works.

I am thinking about getting a stage 3 snow performance kit from a guy to put on my 03,what would you recommend I run through it,washer fluid or 50/50 water & methanol,and how much a gallon price whys are we looking for the methanol????

I would go by the manufacturers recommendations, and search around here for people actually running it.

Sorry guys you are right it will most definately lower your egts and give you more power. I am speaking from experience with my 1st gen truck. I will be putting on a snow performance on my 06 in the future. I have on accident activated my stage 2 before at part throttle, it detonated real bad. I'm sure the newer stuff from snow is awesome.
