we did something real different and cool we cut a solid billet grille out of a 87 chevy and cut the cross hairs out of a 92 cummins grille and trimmed it to fit

How hard was it to do that billit grill insert ? , now if there was away to prevent the outer area from cracking ?

Has any one tried the new LED Head lights yet ?

nah, but i have a buddy who did some H. I. D. 's billet insert wasn't bad just slow fine trimming until right and is zip tied in

tobacco grower, where you from? we grow organic tobacco for santa fe in oxford, we're in browns summit (just north of greensboro) use to grow a fair amount of conventional for PM USA in danville

Dodge tach

Finally installed one of those factory dealer tachs, easiest upgrade ever! It's been sitting on the shelf for a couple of months, waiting to be installed! Plugs right into factory harness! I recommend one!

tonneau cover

IF anyone is looking for a decent "oldschool" snapon tonneau cover, this one fits the 1st gen trucks! Extang makes it, Classic Platinum model, super easy install with adjustable metal snaps, it's not as fancy as the truxedo ones etc. , but for 224 bucks shipped to you door, I'm pretty happy about it.

Billet grille?

Need to black out the intercooler, too... . IMO. Looks like a great start. If you go so far as to rhino line the exterior, I'd do the lower interior, too. I did my '93 and '84, and I think it makes a world of difference on noise and cleanout. I still have the rubber floor mats, but if they ever get wet, I don't have to worry about it rusting through the floor pans.....

Since we're on the subject of cool changes... I've always wanted to see someone find a Dodge 8' stepside bed (they are out there) and bolt that behind a 3/4 ton Cummins first gen. Big Red Express. Stacks would easily apply as well.

According to this book,
D/W 100 &150 72-86
D/W 200 &250 72-86
It was available in several cab configurations early. By the end it was only in the Regular Cabs 131 in. wheelbase.

BSchwarzli, you should get one of these books. It is a handy refernce item.

So, while looking around on the 'net, I noticed something. A guy found a bed on a '75, but it had an in cab fuel tank, so a filler neck could be a issue.
According to my book, on D models, the fuel tank left the cab in 74, and an optional fuel tank was in the cab. It doesn't say when the tank moved on W modesl, but in 76 the tank was raised between the frame rails...
On a side note, the dually was introduced in 74 also.

If anyone wants, I am willing to look up stuff in my 78-81 parts book. There's loads of weird stuff in there. Including the Mitsubishi 6 cyl diesel option that was available in D,W and the motorhome chassis.

When I first got on my job, they had as a landfill chase truck, a early 80's W350 crew shortbed. It was HD with the HD360, 727,205, Danas with locking hubs in front. To say it was a cool truck was an understatement. However it was beat to hell and suffered a terrible death without a home.

Just when I think I thought of something different... the internet proves me wrong. Again. This is the "something different" I was thinking on a 1st Gen Cummins. Only problem is the Lil' Red Express stacks are missing. Would look good with twin 5" bull haulers and the heat shields around them. No idea who's truck this is. Pic on internet.
