I do find it interesting that almost 100% of mass shooters are either previously registered democrat or libertarian's. What up with that?

I'm not clear on the Libertarian thing. If you listen to Rand Paul, who I THINK is the lead libertarian, you'll hear a conservative guy who focuses on what the constitution states, less government, and living like that. Seems alright to me. I don't know any others to compare to.

All I know is that non-law abiding people shoot and commit crimes against law abiding people. So by understanding those simple fundamentals society has to ask the question, how are all the law abiding people supposed to protect themselves from the non-law abiding people if all those non-law abiding criminals dont follow the laws?

How about we just make all crimes illegal. Surely that will stop all the criminals in their tracks. :-laf

Or maybe we just allow all the law abiding people protect themselves from the non-law abiding people. Freaking genius.....

As usuall you are quite wrong. The 223 or 5.56 round do not blow the body apart nor do they distroy edible meat any more than any other hunting round. These rounds were developed for light wt, economy and the fact that they wound rather than kill. The thought being when you kill a man you take out 1 man. When you wound a man you take out that man plus however many it takes to remove him from battle, then tend the wounded.

I lived in the SF bay area for a few decades, so yeah I'm no stranger to the "common non-sense" thinking people who gravitate to the western side of CA. Thankfully the true northern portion of this state (pretty much everything north of Sacramento) doesnt follow that same illogical mentality.

The early versions of the m16 5.56 bullet wobbled when it hit a target. It was not designed to do that. In later versions I believe that was corrected.

As far as leaving very little meat on a dear. The ar15 is not legal to hunt deer with in the state of wash because it is too small a caliber to hunt deer with. Same as a .22

That's different. We can use any center fire cartridge here for big game; if you call Ca deer big game . You're spot on about the .22 caliber.......the 5:56/.223 ammo is nothing more than a ticked off .22 round. Decent accuracy to 100 yds +, cheap, reloadable and did I mention cheap?

I hate to keep referring to the above video, but dad gum, it proves so much. People are uneducated about firearms, people are naive, and people are literally being spoon fed inaccurate information produced by the media. It saddens me that none of these people will ever take the time to educate themselves about firearms, calibers and anything else related to the sport of shooting or hunting. They are removing the rights of hundreds of millions of safe and honest citizens that will never pose a threat to the public with one vote at a time. They are nothing more than knee jerk sheep.

I actually like his point of view.

Anyone who has grown up around guns and/or has any level of gun training understands that the last thing you want to do is pull out your gun out in a self defense situation. Its nothing like in the movies..... Having a gun is not meant to be "cool", its not a status thing, its not meant to be used as a threat, and its absolutely the last means to staying alive. Doing anything otherwise actually increases your own risk of harm. So again, there is a clear difference between law abiding and non-law abiding but unfortunately anti-gun activists want everyone to believe that there isnt.

How about discussing the fact that there's some 40,000 automobile fatalities every year. Thats around 10k more than all gun related fatalities too..... But nonetheless, if we use the anti-gun mentality then not only should all vehicle forums be banned but everyone should not be allowed to own or drive a car because we're all too dangerous behind the wheel and cant be trusted. Especially since we can ride a bike or horse or simply walk to wherever we need to go. Only politicians and Hollywood celebs would have such privileges.
