Here is how I ended up mounting my gauges... Good, bad, ugly?

I used the green covers over the light bulbs and it matched the factory very well.

I like that!

Imagine it's pretty hard to see the odometer and trip odometer, but it looks slick! Whose mounting cups did you use?

Gonna file this one away for future use as Dad and I are gonna put a Crewcab together for his trailer puller as soon as I find a good (and cheap) Cummins donor-the Crewcab is patiently waiting.

The odometer you can just fine over the top of the tach. The trip meter you can not see at all from straight on. However it is still useable. I can get to the reset button and can view the numbers from the side between and behind the gauges. That is one of the drawbacks of going this route. However there are several pluses:

Very easy to route the wires and have them hidden - no holes in dash, a-pillar, etc. Also they do not hinder your view (as on dash or a-pillar (my opinion)) and are in the same general sight plane as the other factory gauges.

The cups are the factory Isspro one for the tach and Autometer 2204 2" black mounting cup.

Thumbs up!

That looks like a good idea. I think your wheel is different than mine by the looks of the pics. Nice job.

That is Slick!!!

Now that is worth posting all over. Pretty trick and clean looking to boot!!!! Nice Job!!!

Matt, Ya the 89-90 had the more solid looking wheel and the column is different, may not be enough meat to mount to. The key area of these ones is alot wider and flat to mount to.

Thanks guys for the compliments. Just another option when trying to decide where to put those gauges.

They are actually mounted around the round part of the column behind the wider key area. I used a single 3/4" wide black velro strap through the slot in the base of each cup. It sinches down very tight and blends in with the black column very well. Then I just rotated the gauges in the cup so that the lettering was horizontal. I also put thin rubber sheeting under the cup bases to prevent slippage of the metal base on the plastic column cover. Not one screw used - the whole thing setup can come off the column in a matter of seconds.
